Hot Wheels Infinite Rush Open World Racer Revealed

It turns out that Clutch is not the only open-world racing game to be revealed this week. During Summer Game Fest, Milestone Games announced Hot Wheels Infinite Rush, and it legit looks like a toybox come to life.

At its core, it seems that Infinite Rush takes the DNA from Milestone’s previous Hot Wheels games and applies it to an open-world racing game formula. Imagine the Hot Wheels expansion from Forza Horizon, but even bigger. There are giant gorillas perched on skyscrapers, massive metal skulls with ramps coming out of their mouths, dinosaur skeletons with destructible teeth, it all looks like fever dream of a Saturday Morning playtime from a distant past.

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush‘s open-world will feature four themed islands where players can jump through the sky, smash obstacles, and find hidden collectibles. There will be over 150 licensed cars from brands like Ferrari and original Hot Wheels cars for players to choose from. Judging from the trailer, it looks like players can challenge other cars to impromptu races while free roaming the map.

Naturally, there will be competitive online multiplayer modes and a local 4-player split-screen multiplayer mode, which is always nice to see.

Most importantly, Milestone is bringing several customization modes to Infinite Rush. Players can create stickers, custom liveries, custom wheels, and create their own tracks with an “enhanced” track builder. Milestone didn’t elaborate on how the track builder feature in Infinite Rush is expanded over the system used in its previous games, but more information on that will probably come closer to the game’s launch.

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush will release for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (via Steam) on September 24th, 2026. If we manage to get our hands on it before then, we’ll be sure to give you our thoughts.
