Limited Edition 30th Anniversary Gran Turismo PS5 Controller Revealed
Part one of Gran Turismo’s massive Spec IV update is hitting consoles today, but that’s not the only thing PlayStation and Polyphony Digital had to show. To celebrate Gran Turismo’s 30th anniversary, PlayStation revealed a brand-new Gran Turismo limited-edition PS5 DualSense controller, and it looks amazing.
As far as we can tell, this is the third limited-edition Gran Turismo PlayStation controller in the history of the series. The first was for the PlayStation 3, but that was simply an exclusive color (titanium blue). The next limited-edition controller for the PlayStation 4 took it up a notch with an exclusive color (metallic silver) and the Gran Turismo logo on the touchpad. Though, if we’re being honest, both of those controllers were kind of boring visually.
This new PlayStation 5 controller takes the theming much further without being gawdy. The controller is basically treated like a race car sporting a custom livery. The left grip features the full Gran Turismo logo, the number 30 race number (for the anniversary), and a wreath logo celebrating the 100 million copies sold milestone from 2025. The left grip features the Gran Turismo 4 slogan “The Drive of Your Life” and the Gran Turismo Association logo.
The logos and placement are pretty cool, but it gets better from there. The plate around the analog joysticks has carbon fiber texturing. While using real carbon fiber would have been S-Tier, this is still pretty damn cool. The touchpad features racing stripes and even has emergency cutoff switch decals found on GT race cars. We think the coolest touch may be the racecar-style hood-pin latches on the touchpad, which appear to be molded into the plastic rather than printed on. We could be wrong about the application of the hood-pin latches; regardless, they add a nice bit of authenticity.
The Gran Turismo Limited Edition DualSense Wireless Controller will retail for $84.99 USD and is set to release on December 10th, 2026. Just in time for the holiday season. Pre-orders open October 22nd at 10 am local time on the PlayStation Direct store and at other retailers. PlayStation didn’t reveal how many controllers are being produced, but it is “limited-edition,” so be prepared if you want to get your hands on one.
