No More RWB Porsches for the USA
A RWB Porsche 911 is easily one of the most sought after vehicles in the world. Considering that, RWB creator Akira Nakai travels the globe to install each body kit personally not only adds to the mystique, but also keeps him in high demand due to its rarity. The price combined with the long waitlist makes it a hard modification to get, and it just got even more difficult to obtain.
No, Nakai-san is not retiring! However, RWB USA just announced that as of January 8th, 2026, it’s not taking anymore orders in America. Nakai-san and his partners set up RWB USA years ago to manage requests and orders in the states, but it looks like the demand may have gotten overwhelming. RWB USA put out a statement via its Instagram page informing that it is pausing all US orders “until further notice.”

According to the statement Nakai-san himself requested to pause new orders in the United States so that he could catch up on existing orders. Remember, this man travels the world and installs each order himself. It’s such a big deal that customers often turn the installation into an event and large groups of people will show up to watch him work. As incredible as Nakai-san is, he’s still just one man and can only do so much.
However, if you live in the states and you really want your Porsche 911 to get the RWB treatment, there is a way. RWB says if you want to place an order you can, but you’ll have to ship your car to Japan so that Nakai-san can work on it from his home base. While that sounds drastic, consider that for the bodykit, wheels, and suspension you’re looking at about $40,000. That’s before paying for Nakai-san’s labor and paint. If you can afford that, then paying another $10k-$15k to ship the car to Japan doesn’t seem like that much of a financial stretch.
According to RWB USA, the pause on US-based orders will remain until the end of 2026. At that point, RWB USA will “review where things stand” and decide if orders will re-open. So, there is a chance that the pause could last longer than just this year depending on how much progress Nakai-san makes by then. It should also be noted that despite the pause, existing US-based customers can still order replacement parts if needed.
If you’re already among the lucky few in the United States that has a genuine RWB Porsche 911, then it just became much less likely that you’re going to show up to a party with someone else’s car wearing the same outfit as yours.
