Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure Expansion Revealed
The newest expansion for Forza Horizon 5 has been revealed and it is exactly what you think it is—or maybe not. We’ll explain. During the Forza Horizon 5 Let’s ¡GO! livestream, Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios revealed that the next expansion is called Rally Adventure. As the name suggests, the expansion is all about racing ragged on dirt and various other terrains. We’re personally not all that surprised by the reveal as Horizon 5‘s Mexico setting seems like the perfect place to create a rally-inspired playground. However, some notable community members like AR12Gaming suggested that some fans were expecting a city-based expansion. We suppose if you’re one of those fans you may have been disapointed by this reveal but there is likely another expansion coming down the line so all hope isn’t lost.
For now, let’s get into the Rally Adventure details. Releasing on March 29th the expansion gives players the option to race with three different rally teams, select from a brand new crop of rally vehicls from different diciplines, and explore a new reigon, Sierra Nueva. The new reigon is chocked full of new biomes like the town of Pueblo Artza, an abandoned quarry, sand dunes, a desert gorge, rolling Green Hills, and an “entirely smashable” palm forest.
A host of events will be available as part of a new campaign mode that has players join three different rally teams and participate in “multi-car” Horizon races. For authenticity, players will have a co-driver calling out corners and a new rally-focused HUD will feed players information like a leaderboard, pace notes, and position changes. However, for those who want a cleaner user experience the HUD can be toggled off.
The Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure expansion also includes new EventLab props and objects like branded barriers, flags and civilian vehicles. The new EventLab props will be available to everyone even those who don’t own the expansion. This is likely to prevent splitting up the growing EventLab creator community.
The Rally Advenure expansion will also bring new modifications to the in-game garage like anti-lag and launch control. Finally, no expansion would be complete without a new crop of cars. Though, it seems like most of the vehicles are trucks and there are some interesting inclusions like the Ford F-150 Lightning EV truck and Alumicraft Trick Truck. There is only one WRC car, but it’s Colin McRae’s 2001 Ford Focus RS so it’s a heavy hitter. Still, we would have liked to have seen more WRC cars in a “Rally” expansion. Perhaps, with an official WRC racing game in existence, there were some licensing issues that got in the way. That is just speculation on our part though.
