The Genesis G70 likely comes off as a cruising, comfortable luxury car. In some ways it fits that description perfectly. After all, Genesis is Hyundai‘s luxury brand and their line is meant to attract those who may otherwise spend their coins on something from the likes of Lexus or Acura.
However, Genesis doesn’t want their cars to be strictly boxed into the “luxury” category. The G70 can come with either a 2.0 liter turbo engine with 252 horsepower or a 3.3 liter turbo V6 with 365 horsepower. There are also rear wheel drive and all wheel drive options available. The point is the Genesis G70 wants you to put some “sport” on its name.
To drive home that point, Genesis teamed up with MotorTrend to show off what the G70 can do. In turn MotorTrend tapped automotive photographer Caitlin Ting, stunt driver and actress Lea Croteau, and stunt driver Ashley Cusato to choreograph a Hollywood-style car chase.
The trio took over the docks in San Pedro and put together a pretty awesome sequence with Caitlin shooting from all the good angles. The end result is a clever and entertaining way to show off some of the capabilities of the Genesis G70 while also shining a light on some inspirational people in the industry.
Check out the full short film below. Also, be sure to read our interview with Caitlin Ting. She discusses how she got to where she is along with the triumphs and struggles. It is a motivating story and could be just the thing you need to get you through the rest of the week!
