The incredibly realistic (almost to a fault) WRC 9 racing game by Nacon has only been out for about a month but the game is already getting its first free update.
Available now, the October 2020 update comes with several new additions to the game. Not least of which is 6 new special stages added to Neste Rally Finland.
This is notable Rally Finland is the fastest rally on the calendar and these particular special stages are extra tricky due to an abundance of blind jumps.
It will certainly take a lot of practice for newcomers to get used to that kind of challenge. I’m going to give it a shot myself but I am certainly not expecting stellar results.
The update also includes Kiwi driver Hayden Paddon and his co-driver John Kennard. The pair will pilot the Hyundai i20 WRC car.
The last piece of the update is a photo mode which is perfect for a game like this. Speeding through settings in the snow, rain, and sun with the kind of natural vistas seen in the game will make for plenty of great photo opportunities.
I can imagine photos will look extra sharp and detailed when captured on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of WRC 9 when they’re available.
In addition to this update Nacon confirmed that another free update is on the way and it will include a co-driver mode. I have no idea how that will work but I am very curious to find out.
As I mentioned before, the update should be available now so if anyone who already has WRC 9 just needs to update their game and all the content will be there.
