Honda Civic Type R Ultimate Edition Is Goodbye Gift to Europe
As the saying goes: all good things must come to an end. For Europe that means saying goodbye to the Honda Civic Type R. After a nearly three-decade run, Honda is pulling the Civic Type R out of the European market likely due to increasingly stringent emissions regulations in the reigon. The good news is that the legendary hot hatch is going out big with the super limited Honda Civic Type R Ultimate Edition variant. Though, in an extra bit of bad news, we doubt you’ll be able to get one.
Unique Looks
Honda decided that the Civic Type R is spicy enough on its own so the Ultimate Edition doesn’t have any mechanical upgrades over a “vanilla” Type R. Instead what sets the Ultimate Edition apart is a unique styling package that includes an exclusive red decal package applied over the Championship White paint job. There’s also a painted black roof, carbon fiber rear spoiler, and special door sills.
The rest of the unique bits are inside of the car including a carbon fiber center console panel and an interior lighting package. Speaking of, there’s even a special Type R logo puddle light which looks pretty damn awesome. As a finishing touch each car comes with a unique matching gift box containing a numbered emblem and carbon fiber key chain.
The Rarest Honda Civic Ever?
The Honda Civic Type R Ultimate Edition might just set the record for most the most difficult Civic to buy in the automaker’s history. Honda is only producing 40 units total for all of Europe. Once those are sold out, that’s it. We’re fairly confident that by the time you read this, every last example is already reserved by the hardest of the hardcore Honda fans in Europe.
Our crystal ball tells us that in a few decades this Type R will be the kind of super unique hidden gems that will fetch big bucks at auction. That being said, this Type R may set another record for the most expensive decal package in history.
