WATCH: 15 Minutes of New F1 25 Gameplay Featuring Lidar Scanned Tracks
We’re getting ever closer to EA Sports’ F1 25 release, and the hype is growing. Just before this weekend’s Miami Grand Prix kicks off, EA Sports has dropped 15 minutes of new F1 25 gameplay footage which provides an extended look at some of the freshly Lidar scanned tracks including Miami, Bahrain, Melbourne, and Suzuka. None of these tracks are new to the F1 game franchise, but the developers at Codemasters are striving for an extra level of realism. Apparently, the Lidar system used by Codemasters captured over a billion data points which is mind bending.
However, judging by the gameplay footage the work paid off. Miami specifically looks incredibly detailed, and the lighting effects only make the course look more realistic. Though, chances are this gameplay was captured from a very high-end PC on max graphics settings. I am curious to see what PS5/PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S gameplay looks like.
The footage also shows off some of the new reverse layout gameplay at Silverstone, Austria, and Zandvoort. Reverse courses is a first for the F1 game franchise and we’re curious to see how it’s received by the F1 community.
Finally, there’s also a glimpse at the new podium celebrations which was recreated using a combination of VR and motion capture. We also hear how actual driver team radio is used in the game for interactions with the team during a race.
As previously mentioned, hype levels are reaching critical mass based on what’s been shown so far, but it’s all about the final product. Though, If you’re already sold you can pre-order F1 25 now for PS5, Xbox, and PC. We’ll look into reviewing the game for you before release if possible so stay tuned for updates on that. We’ll also continue to follow any new information we get on F1 25 before launch. Something tells us that there are still one more two more surprises to be revealed.
