The 2000 Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VI RSX could effectively be the rarest JDM unicorn that money can buy. In 2000, Ralliart UK managed to nab 30 EVO VI models to work its magic on.
Ralliart UK started by removing the ABS system, adding plated differentials, titanium turbocharger impellers, and bolting on lightweight Recaro SR seats in the front.
In total, Ralliart removed approximately 176 lbs over a stock EVO VI. From there a faster steering rack was added to improve responsiveness. 30 additional spot welds and a three-point strut brace were applied to increase chassis rigidity. The stock coilovers were replaced with a Proflex suspension system complete with external reservoirs.
To boost power, Ralliart UK re-worked the ECU then added a 3-inch HKS exhaust and intake system.
The car was originally sold to the founder of Ralliart UK before it was eventually sold to the current owner who has now placed the car on PistonHeads for auction.
Remember earlier when we mentioned that only 30 Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VI RSX examples were produced? Well, this particular car is even rarer because of those 30, only 10 were coated in silver paint.
The rare paint job combined with its overall excellent condition and low mileage (57k miles), makes this car a must-have for any serious JDM car collector.
If you want your shot at it the bidding currently sits at £45,000 (approximately $60,000). Though it should be noted that this car is for sale in the UK and may not be legal for road use in other countries.
So, if you’re serious about trying to acquire this JDM gem, you may want to check with your local laws and regulations first.
Either way, we’re going to be instantly jealous of whoever wins this auction. How much would you be willing to bid for this limited edition Evo? Let us know in the comments below or tweet to us at @MotorworldHype.
