Fan Favorite Track Returns to Forza Motorsport
The Forza Motorsport racing game series is just a few months away from celebrating a milestone 20 year anniversary. If that makes you feel old, join the club. It seems like just yesterday I was playing the very first Forza Motorsport on a bright green Mountain Dew limited edition Xbox console. To celebrate two decades of racing, Forza Motorsport developer Turn 10 Studios annoucned that it’s bringing back the classic Fujimi Kado track which has been missing from the franchise for far too long.
Fujimi Kaido is a fictional Japanese Touge (mountain road) course that was immensely popular with Forza players. It was the ultimate course for Forza drifters and really fun point-to-point racing. The course debuted in the very first Forza Motorsport game in 2005 and returned for Forza Motorsport 3 and Forza Motorsport 4 but hasn’t appeared in any Forza games after that despite fans demanding its return.
Turn 10 Studios announced that Fujimi Kadio will finally make its grand return in May for the 20th Anniversary of the series. Though there will be some changes. For starters, the course is bound to look much better with photorealistic rendering and raytraced lighting. That’s to be expected since the last time we saw Fujimi Kaido it was two console generations ago on the Xbox 360.
Turn 10 Studios notes that recreating the 10.24 mile course will be the team’s biggest track project ever. From start to finish the track will have 144 turns and 2,711 feet of elevation from bottom to top. The developer confirmed that there will be two layouts for the course: clockwise and counter clockwise. This news is disappointing to some who were hoping that the point-to-point layouts would return as popular racing game YouTuber AR12 Gaming pointed out. It hasn’t been confirmed or denied that point-to-point will definitely not be part of Fujimi Kaido’s return but for now it doesn’t look likely.
There isn’t an exact date for the launch of the track but it’s anticipated to happen sometime within the first two weeks of May. Stay tuned as this post will be updated if and when more information is available.
