If you think Dai Yoshihara only drives hard when he’s competing in Formula Drift, you’d be very wrong.
When Dai is not sliding sideways at triple digit speeds inches away from his fellow pro drifters, he’s driving just about anything else that will go fast in short order.
He’s an avid and experienced time attack driver, performance driving instructor, and every year he heads to the famous Pikes Peak to take on the legendary hill climb.
Yes, despite the fact that many motorsports events were canceled due to the global pandemic, Pikes Peak was not one of them.
Furthermore, despite having to take on an extra tough Formula Drift schedule, Dai made time to race up the peak.
In the video below you can watch Dai’s full run up the mountain. Though, he is not driving his V8 powered Subaru BRZ here.
Instead, Dai is behind the wheel of a Scion FR-S powered by a 800-horsepower 2JZ Toyota Supra engine equipped with Toyo Proxes tires. The car was built and prepared by Evasive Motorsports, a team that Dai works with often in his time attack endeavors.
Drop what you’re doing, turn the volume up and watch Dai Yoshihara attack the mountain and win in the video below and then thank me later.
