Build Your Own Air-Cooled Porsche Engine With This Model Kit (Video)

If you’ve ever wanted to have a working Porsche flat-six engine on your desk while still actually having room for other things, then you’re going to want to pay attention to this.  German company Franzis has just released a 1:4 scale model of a working Porsche 911 air-cooled flat six engine; complete with LED lights simulating the spark plugs firing and authentic sounds.  The model is specifically of a 1966 Porsche 911 2.0 liter “Mezger” engine and the kit comes with a composition book featuring historical photos, drawings, and posters from the Porsche archives.

The model’s casing is transparent so that all the moving parts are easily visible when the model kit is switched on.  This kit will definitely take a while to put together as its made up of 290 pieces but luckily no glue or paint is required.  Everything is screwed together and the kit even comes with its own screwdriver so all you need is some time and patience once you get this in your hands.

The kit can be had for $199.00 from and would look great on a desk, especially if it is parked right next to the LEGO Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS model.
