E3 2013: New Forza Motorsport 5 Details (Updated With Video)

Just moments ago at the Xbox E3 2013 press briefing, Dan Greenawalt took the stage to formally introduce the world to Forza Motorsport 5.  Luckily I am sitting less than 40 feet away from said stage and I have all the details for you!  Let’s get started shall we?

The presentation started with an intro to McLaren Automotive and all of their advancements in motorsport.  Then in a big ploom of smoke a genuine McLaren P1 rises from the stage just as Turn 10 Studios creative director Dan Greenawalt walks out onto the stage.

We then got our first look at Forza Motorsport 5 gameplay and the introduction to the new “Drivatar” feature.  As the name suggests Drivatar is a cloud based avatar that is based on your driving style.  According to Dan, thanks to the power of the cloud Forza Motorsport 5 will “learn” your driving style then apply it to your Drivatar.

After your Drivatar learns your style it will then race for you online to earn you credits and gain XP.  It sounds pretty damn cool but I can’t help but think this means Forza Motorsport 5 will require an internet connection to run such an amazing feature.  I will try to get more information on this when I get my hands on Forza Motorsport 5 on the E3 show floor.  Stay tuned!

UPDATE: We have video for you!  The first video is the moment pictured above when Dan Greenawalt takes the stage just as the McLaren P1 rises! You then get to hear the man himself explain “Driveatar”.  The second video is a short clip of actual Forza Motorsport 5 gameplay!  Enjoy!
