Lexus CT 200h “Umbra” Sculpture
I thought BMW’s kinetic sculpture was pretty cool but what Lexus did here is really freakin fresh. They call it an “Umbra” sculpture. I’m not sure what that means but I think this is an awesome way to show off the cars shape in a three-dimensional way. They used CAD data to cut 2,500 vertical aluminum rods to exact lengths so they could accurately match the shape of the car. Also, the front and back of each rod is painted with a different color so that the hue changes depending on the angle you view it from. This is some fresh car art.
