Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Fights Zombies in Resident Evil Requiem

From the very first time we were all traumatized by that damn zombie dog jumping through the window in the original Resident Evil game to now, the franchise has become a generational hit with gamers. During a showcase for the latest game in the series, Resident Evil Requiem, an interesting new character was revealed: the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT. Wait…what?

Resident Evil games are known for their tense atmosphere and navigating dark environments as you evade hordes of zombies. So, product placement from a major automaker is—different—to say the least. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but certainly unexpected for the series. Resident Evil developer Capcom has teamed up with Porsche to give the Cayenne Turbo GT a supporting role in the new game. The 650-horsepower SUV serves as the main character Leon Kennedy’s mode of transportation through the zombie-riddled streets of Raccoon City.

Specifically, the game will feature a special one-off “in-world” variant of the Cayenne Turbo GT. Details are sparse, so it’s unclear just how much players will get to mow down zombies with the Porsche, or whether it’s more of a getaway vehicle. According to comments from Porsche Gaming Partnerships representative Niklas Krellenberg, it would appear that Porsche built a real-life version of the Cayenne Turbo GT variant from the game.

Krellenberg stated that 3D printing was one of the techniques Porsche used to create the parts needed to re-create the in-game version of the Cayenne. Though he didn’t mention any potential plans for the real car. It may serve as a promotional piece when the game releases. I highly doubt Porsche will produce a Resident Evil Edition Cayenne Turbo GT for sale, but crazier things have happened.

Resident Evil Requiem is set to release on February 27th, 2026, which is a little more than a month from the time of this article. If I can dig up more information on this collaboration between Porsche and Resident Evil, I’ll share it ASAP.
