Movie Hype: Ron Howard’s RUSH Movie Release Pushed Back A Week (Video)
Motorsport lovers (as well as lovers of Chris Hemsworth) every where have been waiting patiently for Ron Howard’s 1970’s F1 period film “RUSH” for a long time now. Unfortunately it looks like they’ll have to wait a bit longer. It was announced today that the film’s release originally scheduled for September 20th 2013 has been pushed back to September 27th.
It is unknown why Universal Pictures decided to do this but on its new release date RUSH now faces competition from four films one of which is Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2. I know that doesn’t sound like cause for concern but typically during the summer time kids films like that tend to dominate the box office, no matter what opens along with it. Just look at what Despicable Me 2 did to Lone Ranger.
Had Universal Pictures decided to stick with the original release date RUSH would only have to contend with one film, Prisoners from Warner Bros.
Will Ron Howard’s love letter to the most exciting and dangerous era of Formula 1 be enough to stand up against hordes of children longing to see food fall from the sky (for a second time)? Time will tell…
