Audi Pulls Off 1-2-3 Finish At 24 Hours Of LeMans

Audi made history over the weekend by completing a 1-2-3 finish at the 24 Hours Of LeMans endurance race.  You read right, 3 out of 4 of Audi’s entries made it onto the podium.  Where were the usually dominant Peugeots? Well, for about 22 of the 24 hours they were kicking but and maintaining a healthy lead over Audi but then like some kind of mechanical rebellion the engines on all the Peugeot cars blew up one after another.  With no more threat from their French rivals all Audi had to do was avoid any mishaps for a few hours to sweep the podium.  I’m thinking that Audi corporate may reconsider cutting their motorsports budget for 2011.
