Embargo Buster: Mazda MX-5 Superlight Revealed Pre-Frankfurt

These days the word “embargo” just doesn’t mean that much to certain intrepid journalistic outlets!  Damn near never major concept that was hyped up for the Frankfurt Motorshow has been leaked before the first day of the event!  The latest victim of embargo-cide is Mazda’s MX-5 Superlight concept.  We showed you a preview rendering a while back but here it is in the flesh!  Looking at these pictures its clear to me that this car was forged from a block of pure awesome by a blacksmith equipped with a hammer of badass. 

I’ve already bugged Mazda to see if they will bring the Superlight to the LA Auto Show but so far they say there are “no plans” to do so.  But hey, plans change all the time so I am keeping my fingers crossed.  In the mean time take a look at some of the pics below and if you want to see a HUGE gallery then head over to CarScoop.
