Mario Kart Live Home Circuit Is Actually Real Life Mario Kart! [VIDEO]

Mario Kart Live Home Circuit

It’s Mario’s 35th anniversary! To celebrate, Nintendo announced a ton of Mario-related games and products. Being a huge video game nerd I want it all but there was one major stand out: an augmented-reality version of Mario Kart called Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit.

It combines a Mario Kart game with a physical Mario Kart RC car and course. There will be two RC Karts available (Mario & Luigi) and each one has a camera attached which sends a live video feed to the player’s Nintendo Switch console.

There is an augmented-reality overlay on the video feed which places virtual opponents within the game. The set comes with cardboard gates and arrow sign boards to help set up the physical course.

The Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit set will release on October 16th, 2020 which is not a long time from now. This release date also essentially ensures that it will be a hot item this holiday season not just for kids but for collectors and hopelessly nostalgic people like me.

I want this so bad and I don’t even have the room or the time to play with it! Why am I like this?! Anyway…

It’s not yet available for pre-order but Nintendo did reveal that the retail price is $99.99. However, it is almost a guarantee that this set will end up on eBay selling for more than double that price.

So, if you want it, make sure to keep track of the official website to place your pre-order as soon they go live.

In the meantime, check out the trailer and more official images below.

Are you going to pick up Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit? Let me know in the comments or tweet to me at @MotorworldHype. I need to know how much competition I’m going to have when the pre-orders go live…
