Another Look: Vorsteiner E90/E92 M3 Titanium Exhaust

Posted on 12.22.08 | Andy No Comments

I decided to take antoher look at Vorstiner’s titanium M3 exhaust.  I’ve been looking around and so far I haven’t seen too much that is on par with what Vorstiner put out.  Recently the dyno numbers came back from Evosport and it turns out that in addition to shaving off 38lbs it also added 14 horses and bumped up the torque by 13.24 ft/lbs.  So now we know for sure this exhaust isn’t just pretty piping.

NISMO Club Sport Package for GT-R

Posted on 08.29.08 | Andy No Comments

In all the GT-R hype some of us may have forgotten that NISMO had not got their hands on the Japanese super car yet, until now.   NISMO Japan has just released a ”Club Sport” package for the GT-R which seems to exude track day testosterone.

The package starts off with Bilstein damptronic adjustible shocks with way stiff Nismo springs and a set of Rays produced forged aluminum 20 inch wheels wrapped in Bridgestone RE070R tires.

Next up on the list are NISMOxRecaro collab seats with carbon fiber backing.  These seats keep the side air bag system in tact but delete the electric seat position motors which saves a bit of weight.

The suspension, wheels, and seats are all super cool but I’d say the crown jewels of the package are the full titanium exhaust with a carbon fiber undertray!  FRESH!

By now I’m sure you’re pretty excited right?  Well, unfortunately its time for a buzz-kill.  All the aformentioned NISMO goodies are meant only for the Japanese Domestic Market.  In fact even if you live in Japan there are only 12 places in the entire country authorized to perform the install and maintainence on these products without voiding the warranty.

There is a slight consolation that GT-R product specialist GT-RR.com will be importing the full sport package but it’s going to set you back $58,000!  That’s more than half of what most current owners paid for their GT-R!  Is it worth it? I’m going to go out on a limb and say no.  But that doesn’t take away from how cool this all is and despite the outlandish price I’m pretty sure there are several GT-R owners in the US whom already have the NISMO package on reserve.

I mean, these are the same people willing to spend $20k even $50k over sticker just to get the car.  What’s another $60 grand for a suspension, wheels, tires, seats, and an exhaust?

BMW E92 M3 Titanium Header by Ericsson

Posted on 08.26.08 | RJD No Comments

It’s a day for Ericsson and their goodies for the BMW E92 M3. Usually I just choose one product per company to feature at a time but the Ericsson stuff is just so awesome that I decided to feature them heavily today. Below is the full power exhaust system TITAN but that’s really not complete unless you also have the TITAN exhaust manifold STTI. These look like they belong to the BMW Sauber F1 team but are meant for your street driven M3.

Ericsson Full Power Titan Exhaust System for BMW M3

Posted on 08.26.08 | RJD No Comments

Though the Ericsson M480 aero package has gotten mixed reviews - their complete exhaust system is something coveted by all BMW E92 M3 owners. Ericsson produces a complete package that features a a higher flow sports catalytic converters and a full titanium exhaust system. Ericsson calls it the Full Power Exhaust System Titan and it retails for about 10 grand. With it’s hefty price tag and very limited availability, this exhaust combination will be the envy of all M3 owners. I’d opt for the one with just the burnt edge tips!

Gruppe M Titanium Exhaust for E92 M3

Posted on 08.18.08 | Andy No Comments

Gruppe M has created a musical instrument for the new E92 M3.  This exhaust sounds better than any symphony that I’ve ever heard.  It doesn’t add much power but since its a full titanium piece it saves a lot of weight.  The Gruppe M exhaust weighs just 20lbs where the stock exhaust weighs 55lbs.

So you save 35lbs and gain an exhaust note that would rival a Ferrari.  It’s a win/win…
