Skunk2 Pro-S II Coilovers (With Video)

Posted on 08.05.10 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Skunk2 has refreshed the design on their Pro-C coilover and created the Pro-S II coilover. The new design allows for double ride height adjustability and the ability to change ride height without affecting pre-load since the body itself is threaded. Right now there are only applications for the EG and EK Civic as well as the DC2 Integra but expect more applications very soon. You know the Skunk2 guys don’t quit!

COBB Tuning Nissan GT-R Adjustable End Links

Posted on 08.05.10 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

If you’re looking to tighten up your Nissan GT-R’s handling beyond factory levels then you should probably pay a visit to COBB Tuning.  They just released these new adjustable end links to help sharpen steering response for various conditions and situations.  The best part is they will bolt right up to the OEM sway bar with no modifications needed.  The only catch is that COBB did a super limited run of the endlinks and once they’re sold out they will not re-stock.  So get them while you can!

Ohlins Road And Track Coilovers For Mitsubishi Evo X

Posted on 05.19.10 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Swedish suspension gods Ohlins who are mostly known for their top notch race-only suspension set ups have finally decided to release a line for street cars!  They call it the “Road And Track” line (hopefully there is no lawsuit pending) and as the name suggests these coilovers where designed for street and track double duty.  Pictured above is their package for the Mitsubishi Evo Xand it looks just as beefy as they’re track-only applications.  So far, I haven’t heard of the new Road And Track line being available here in the states but look for that to change soon.

JDM Hype Video: HKS HIPERMAX D’ NOB Spec

Posted on 05.04.10 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Things were kind of slow today but this tidbit caught my attention.  Check out Nobuteru Taniguchi AKA NOB work with HKS engineers to develop his signature HIPERMAX D’ NOB Spec coilovers.  I imagine this video is more informative/entertaining if you can understand Japanese but if not its worth the time just to watch NOB in action anyway.  Enjoy!

Skunk2 ‘06+ Civic Rear Camber Kit V2.0 (Video)

Posted on 02.23.10 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Skunk2 has revamped their rear camber kit for the 2006+ Honda Civic.  It is even easier to adjust now with a telescoping opposing thread design.  It is also sentient, thinks for itself, and will move on its own as observed in the video below.  Ok so it isn’t really sentient but it would be pretty awesome if it was.

Drop Engineering Front Lower Control Arm Bushings for Mazda FC3S RX-7

Posted on 02.05.10 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

You may not have heard of Drop Engineering before but these guys make super bushings which are made from a material called “Ultra High Molecular Weight Urethane”.  This substancecan like, beat up regular old Polyurethane.  Their stuff is already on Kyle Mohan’s drift RX-8 so you know it can take a beating!  The set up you see above is made for the old school Mazda FC3S (’86-’92) RX-7.  I could make an Initial D joke here but we’re not that lame..

H&R Springs Street Performance Coilover For Mazda RX-8

Posted on 11.13.09 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

One of the biggest selling points of the RX-8 besides its rev-happy rotary engine is its handling.  It is one of the best handling Japanese imports one could buy.  However no matter how good something is there is always room for a little improvement right?  If you are looking to tighten up your RX-8’s handling even more and money isn’t too much of an object (MSRP is about $1,480) you might want to consider H&R Springs’ Street Performance coilovers.  Practically everything they make is race proven and they are in the upper echelon in the quality department.  Also, H&R is German and as the “sham-wow guy” says “The Germans make good stuff!”

Posted on 09.09.09 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Its been a while since I’ve done a KW Suspensions post hasn’t it?  Well nothing as changed with those guys.  They’re still pumping out coilovers like no ones business.  They’ve already worked their way up to Variant 3’s for the new Chevy Camaro.  The Camaro looks FRESH when its dropped! OMG FTW and other lame Internet acronyms!

Does anyone remember the N1s??  They’re still around and still just as fresh as before.  Now they have a “street” version of the N1 Damper Evolution set which basically boils down to not making your teeth rattle when you’re doing your daily driving.  They currently have applications for Honda/Acura, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Nissan, and Subaru which covers most bases.

KW Suspension Universal Hydraulic Lift System (HLS)

Posted on 07.07.09 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

The magical suspension ninjas at KW Suspensions have taken it upon themselves to battle the dreaded “incline scrape” that plagues anyone with a lowered car who dares to venture up a driveway or over a speed bump.  Well with KW’s Universal Hydraulic Lift System (HLS) that blood curdling scrape noise can be a thing of the past.  This system can retrofit to an existing KW Suspension system and when ever you need an extra half inch or so of clearance simply press a button on the included wireless remote and presto! You’re up that nasty incline and over that sleeping policeman with no problems and no abuse to your front lip.  You can check out a video of the HLS in action here.
