Listen up Suby fans!  HKS just launched their ES Premium exhaust for the new WRX STi sedan.  This is is an ES Premium model I’d look for this unit to be more about the sound than a massive jump in horsepower.  There should be a few more horses on tap but this exhaust is more about the look and the sound, deep without being obnoxious is the way to go!

Its really easy to make power in an STi but most people fail to realize that whenever you significantly increase engine power its also a good idea to increase stopping power too.  No one wants to drive a 500hp car that can’t stop!  If you’re rocking an 08+ Subaru STi and you are looking to increase braking power up front then the sport brake kit from Cosworth USA may be a good option.  The kit comes with 6-piston calipers and 2-piece slotted rotors that have a 10-30% higher airflow through them than the stock rotors.

In a secret bunker at an undisclosed location engineers from Cosworth USA and Borg Warner have been working together to develop turbocharger upgrade kits for the WRX STi and Mitsubishi Evo X.  It looks like a ton of R&D has gone into this initiative and according to Cosworth, these kits may be capable of 1000HP outputs!  Expect to see the new turbo “set up” kits available for sale in the coming months.  I’ll also try to see if I can snag some more info about this at SEMA.

This video has been floating around the interwebs for a little while now but I didn’t actually watch it until today.  It was a given that his record breaking hill climb footage would be awesome but what really makes this video for me is the first half in which you see Travis and his co-driver Marshal Clarke create their custom pace notes during a pre-run in a stock Subaru WRX STi.  It was pretty interesting to me to get a glimpse into how pace notes are created.  Scroll down for 5 minutes of rally awesomeness.

Crawford Performance is the shop that built the Subaru’sKen Blocked hoon’d in both of his Gymkhana videos.  Most of the work they did one the cars were custom one-off pieces but they did save a few bits and decided to mass produce them for regular joes like you and me.  Once such item is their “Gymkhana Exhaust“.  This is the very same exhaust design used on the Gymkhana TWO car.  This thing literally has two megaphones for exhaust tips and is meant to make tons of noise.  There isn’t much of a power gain with this exhaust but you wont lose any power.  However, you will lose about 20lbs of weight over the stock unit.

Yesterday Subaru released footage of the 2011 Subaru WRX STi taking a historic lap around Nurbergring AKA “The Green Hell”.  With rally driver Tommi Makinen behind the wheel, the 2011 STi actually broke a personal best record for Subaru.  Check out the in-car video from the lap below.

Tony Stark AKA Iron Man is a very affluent guy who, when not piloting a highly advanced battle suit likes to spend his wealth having fun. It’s no secret that Mr. Stark is a car guy and as shown from the new Iron Man 2 trailer also has a thing for Motorsports and it looks like hes caught an interest in drifting. It looks like Formula D driver Stephan Verdier’s Crawford Performance built Subaru WRX STi will sport a Stark Motor Racing Team decal, along with another title sponsor Royal Purple. I wonder if Tony Stark will hook Verdier up with suitcase armor? Check out the new trailer below to see what I mean.

Here is a new toy for the Suby fans.  Evasive Motorsport is carrying the K2 Gear REIZ Sports Steering Wheel for the GRB WRX STi.  The REIZ wheel shrinks the factory wheel diameter from 375mm to 355mm for a more sporty feel.  The best part is the wheel is designed in such a way that you can retain all the OEM steering wheel controls and the factory airbag.  Just swap it all over during installation!  Good stuff!

C-West is working on casting their aerodynamic sourcery on the current Subaru WRX GRB model.  This rendering is a sneak peek on what the end result should look like.  I love the kit but I hate that grill scoop!  What is with the J-aero guys and that blasted grill scoop?!  Maybe you’re into it, we all have our preferences right?  Anyway keep an eye out for this one in the near future.  Hopefully that grill scoop will be more of an option instead of a “feature.”
