If you’re trying to break into motorsports or you are just running at a really high amature level, chances are you are going to need a racing suit, unless you like the idea of you burning to a crisp should the unthinkable happen.  Either way most organizations won’t even let you run without a nomex suit.  The problem is that the good ones are expensive, especially the suits that actually look good in addition to performing well.  Luckily for you Alpinestars has an option for the race car driver on a budget with their GP-T Suit.  You get dual layer nomex with a nomex mesh and a style similar to their more expensive suits but the GP-T only tips the scales at $799 which isn’t bad when you consider the top of the line stuff is almost double that!

There are a lot of drivers out there who like to bare-hand it when it comes to track days and such but sometimes you just can’t avoid wearing gloves.  For such situations the new Alpinestars Tech 1-S glove might be a good way to go.  They have two layers of nomex plus fire-resistant leather on the palm for reinforcement.  Plus they look pretty cool!  They are a bit pricey at 140 bucks but hey, you get what you pay for.  I’d rather pay extra and not have my hand burn off should I get into a fiery crash, wouldn’t you?

If you are serious about a racing career or even just a hard core track day guy at some point you will probably need to pick yourself up a racing suit.  Luckily Alpinestars just dropped a new suit today that is perfect for budget racers.  The new Alpinestars  SP Suithas two layers of nomex protection and still features the flexible lower back piece found on the pricier suits.  The total damage to the wallet is only $600 which is a steal!  After you win your first race then maybe you can step up to the Supertech suit.

If you’re looking to get your racer ninja on you should check out Alpinestar’s new ZX series nomex hood.  They’re new hood is double layred and features an access hole for a drinking tube.  Even race car driving ninjas get thirsty.

Check it out, Alpinestars just upgraded their nomex offerings.  This ZX nomex top is just one of the items in their “ZX” nomex line.  Its definately a step up from the traditional white nomex that we’re all used to and the ZX is optimized for breathability.  It also kind of looks like that suit that Tony Stark wears under his Iron Man armor doesn’t it?

Remember the power glove for Nintendo from back in the day?  These Alpinestars gloves remind me of those but without the buttons.  In case you’re wondering…that’s a good thing!  I love Alpinestars stuff.

This one came out of nowhere.  I just happend to be cruising Alpinestars’ website and I saw that they dropped a new racing suit for 2009.  Its called the Supertech, which means when you put it on you’ll automatically get superpowers!  Ok no not really but it is their current flagship suit and looks fresh to death and I’m sure it does the job.

Dude Alpinestars has Nomex socks.  Fire-resistant socks!  How awesome is that?!  Sure, they’re about 25 bucks a pair but they’re fire-resistant! I want to buy seven pairs and wear them everyday!  I should say the serious use for them is obviously at the track to keep your toes from burning off should your car be engulfed in flames, but there is no rule that says you couldn’t use them as regular socks too!

I know usually racing shoes are meant to be worn at the track but sometimes they look so cool that I would rock them as an everyday kicks.  The Alpinestars Tech 1-T US is on the short list of race shoes that I’d wear anywhere.  They’re also a bit cheaper than Alpinestars’ more serious Tech 1-Z US which is also a plus.
