Transfomers have and always will be awesome. Thus, anything else associated with Transfomers has its awesome-ness increased exponentially by association (although an argument will probably be made in the case of Michael Bay). So when something that is already awesome joins forces with Transformers it makes for a head exploding concoction of amazballs!
Now that the awesome math lesson is over, check out this colab toy with A Bathing Ape and Transformers! Its Optimus Prime dawned with “BAPE” red camo! How cool is that?! (that was extremely rhetorical).
The only “not awesome” part of this whole deal is that the limited edition Optimus will only be available at BAPE’s Harajuku store front. It will run for about $80 USD but given its limited quantity and exclusive retail location I would expect to see these on eBay for hundreds of dollars; Which I suppose is still cheaper than a trip to Japan right?
Back in Feburary I told you that Michael Bay not only confirmed there would be a Transformers 4 movie, but that there would be practically no human cast and the film would be all about the bots. After hearing that news I actually thought there might be some promise for the next film with no hammy, over the top actor performances to muck things up. Well, it looks like I might have got hopeful too soon.
See, at first it was true that there would be no actual human actors in the next flick, but it turned out that Michael Bay started a full on BROmance with Mark Whalberg while filming the film “Pain & Gain”. In fact he loves his new BFF so much that he changed his mind and decided to give Mark “Say hello to your mother for me” Whalberg a starring role in Transfomers 4.
On his blog Bay makes sure to say that the story is still in its very early stages so Mr. Whalberg did not necessarily need to be written in to an already locked in script. I guess that makes sense since so far there are absolutely zero details known about what the story of the fourth film will be.
Today in an announcement that made half the world shudder and the other half excited, the infamous Michael Bay confirmed on his own websitethat he has just signed a deal with Paramount Pictures to direct a fourth “Transformers” movie. As soon as he is done with a film starring Mark Walberg and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson he will begin work on the next adventure staring Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.
It is unlikely that any of the human cast, namely Shia La Bouf will return. So if you are a fan of Shia (or you hate him) this could be good news either way (depending on how much you love Michael Bay’s films).
There is no news on if the writers from the first three films will return or what the plot of the next film will be. However, if Michael is smart he will look to the success of Transformers video games such as “War On Cybertron” and take the story back to the Autobot’s home planet.
What do you guys think of this story? Are you excited for another Transformers flick or does this news make you want to scoop your own eyes out? Feel free to express yourself in the comments.
The newest trailer for Transformers 3 “Dark Of The Moon” has hit the interwebs! I’ll admit that I was worried about how Michael Bay would respond after the reception that the second movie got but after watching this trailer below I have to say I am pretty confident that the third flick is going to be pretty damn awesome. Scroll down and check it out for yourself.
We’re not sure how this bit of news flew under the radar but apparently Transformers: Dark Of The Moon director Michael Bay is a regular client of CEC. As such he commissioned CEC West LA to build a 2011 Mercedes Benz E550 that will play an Autobot named “Q” in the upcoming Transformers flick. For the most part the car does look pretty subtle on the outside but CEC claims the shocking blue color was actually hand picked by Michael Bay himself. It looks like a body kit and custom CEC wheels were also added to give the German Autobot some extra grunt. It will be interesting to see how much of a role this character will play in the Movie which opens July 1st this year.
