It looks like Mercedes is gunning for BMW’s 7 Series with a re-fresh of the S-Class AMG.  The outward changes are pretty subtle for the most part.  The wheel arches seem a bit more pronounced and they did something crazy with the headlights (LED’s I believe).  There are some pretty sweet wheels sitting at the corners too, but I’m thinking the main changes will be in the interior and under the hood.  We’ll stay tuned to see what those changes will be.  You can check out more spy shots at MotorAuthority.com which is where I picked up on this story.

Brabus just dropped a few new editions to their tuning package for the S Class.  Now you can grab a set of carbon fiber front fenders, carbon front lip, and carbon housings for the front fog lights.  I think it’s official, Brabus can do no wrong.

Ideally I’d love to have a comfortable baller-mobile for the day to day while reserving something fast for the weekends and track days.  However I would still want some significant performance in the daily driver.  Even if it is a cushy luxo ride.  One such car fits that description pretty well.  The Mercedes S65 AMG is about as close to super-baller/performance that you can get.  Every amenity you can think of including adaptive cruise control yet it still packs a 600HP twin turbo V12 under the hood.  Its almost perfect however perfection comes at a price, in this case almost $200k.  We would totally spring for one…if we had the money.  Oh well!  We’re pretty satisfied with our Lexus IS-F!

A lot of Maybach owners got really upset with the W/V221 S-Class came out.  However those who didn’t drop the $340k on said Maybach were quite excitied.  When it comes to the Mercedes brand the S-Class is the best sedan you can get.  I hope to own one in the (hopefully) not too distant future.  And as soon as I get my hands on one I’m taking it straight to Brabus for this awesome body kit.  I’m loving the front bumper, and intergrating the fog lights is a MUST.
