The feature of the Mercedes Benz exhibit at the 2010 LA Auto Show was the “Sprinklesmobile” Mercedes Sprinter Van that gave away free cupcakes!  OK, that isn’t totally true. The real feature was the North American debut of the 2012 CLS63 AMG.  As I scarfed down my delicious frosted treat I was instantly struck by the new CLS63 AMG’s appearance.  The car looks so rough yet so classy at the same time.  If I had to personify the style of the CLS63 AMG I would liken it to a heavyweight MMA fighter wearing a three-piece suit.

I wanted to know more about what the CLS63 AMG would have to offer once it was released so I spoke to Greg Clark.  Mr. Clark is the Manager of Exclusive Vehicles for Mercedes Benz and took the time to take me through the ins and outs of the new CLS63.  From what Mr. Clark told me, this car will really be a contender in its class once it becomes available.  The numbers and features on the CLS63 AMG are absolutely staggering. The AMG Driving Academyhas been rolling on for a little while now and it is getting closer and closer until they make their California stop at Mazda Raceway Laguna Secca in November.  Racing school’s are cool but a chance to drive nearly every weapon in AMG’s arsenal including the SLS supercar.  Yes, you read correctly they have a course where you can drive the AMG SLS way before it’s launch!  By the way the SLS drive is only available at the Laguna Seca stop.  They recently released a video gives a brief overview of what they’re about.  And before you ask yes, that IS Tommy Kendal giving instruction to the participants.  Check it out below.
