Vorsteiner Debuts Mercedes Benz C63 AMG Aero Package

Posted on 02.24.10 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Vorsteiner just released a brand new box of carbon fiber candy in the form of an aero package for the Mercedes Benz C63 AMG and it is freakin’ sweet! It starts up front with a lip spoiler, then fininshes off with a rear deck lid spoiler and rear diffuser.  This set up looks so fresh, especially with the new V-101 wheels at the corners!

Press Release:

Vorsteiner debuts the Mercedes Benz C63 AMG Aero Package

Pressing onward with the latest in our Mercedes Benz lineage, Vorsteiner is proud to announce the advent of the Mercedes Benz C63 AMG Aero Package. Respectfully following the CLK Black’s heritage, the C63 AMG Aero Package has been meticulously designed and tested to meet Vorsteiner standards of quality, both in style and performance.

Every component in the C63 AMG package is created using a state-of-the-art aerospace autoclave system which utilizes a resin pre-impregnated, vacuum-formed carbon fiber. This results in an up to 30% stiffer and stronger structure when compared to an equivalent wet-lay product.

The C63 AMG Front Spoiler borrows accents from the CLK Black Series while maintaining a genuine C63 feel, graciously contouring the front AMG factory bumper. In its design, the form follows function while considerably increasing downforce to the front of the vehicle using lightweight carbon fiber.

The C63 AMG Rear Diffuser provides an aggressive appearance to the rear of the vehicle, sporting a dual-fin diffuser system. The diffuser is further enhanced by a central vent, cooling the exhaust while accentuating the bumper in a subtle, yet bold manner.

The final component in the C63 AMG Package, the Carbon Fiber Rear Spoiler, arms the C63 with bold distinction as an homage to the sportiness of  the CLK Black. The carbon fiber spoiler imparts its statement through the addition of downforce, flawlessly complementing the front spoiler, both in elegance and purpose.

Our C63 AMG features the Vorsteiner V-101 Monoblock Forged wheel. The V-101 design features an 8 twin spoke mesh, extending out to the edge of the wheel, enhancing the overall appearance and form. The tire of choice is nothing less than best with the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 that aid in gripping the road for optimal acceleration and handling.

Front and rear wheel dimensions are available in 20×8.5 inch and 20×9.5 inch or 19×8.5 inch and 19×9.5, respectively, providing an aggressive powerful stance.

The V-101 is available in the following finishes:

  • Brushed Aluminum
  • Chrome
  • Gunmetal
  • Black
  • Silver
  • Textured Black
  • Texture Gunmetal

Custom finishes are available on request.

The V-101 includes Vorsteiner anodized aluminum carbon fiber center caps.

Knight Sports Carbon Fiber Front Lip For 2009-2010 Mazda RX-8

Posted on 01.20.10 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

With Tokyo Auto Salon in full effect right now I decided to comb through the “JDM” folder in my browser favorites just to see if there was anything new out there, or new to me anyway.  I knew right away that Knight Sports wouldn’t disappoint.  Even though the re-freshed Mazda RX-8 has been out for a little while there hasn’t been much exterior support for it so I was glad to see that Knight Sports has produced a front lip.  Their lip really sets off the already aggressive design of the OEM front end and adds a new personality to it.   The only problem is I don’t know of any Knight Sport distributors in the states so I have no idea how one would be able to get their hands on one of these unless you are fluent in Japanese and/or “know a guy!”  Ah well, its still nice to know its out there…

ABT Carbon Fiber Lip For Golf GTi

Posted on 06.26.09 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned anything cool for the Golf GTi (AKA The Anti-Civic) since this site launched!  Shame on me!  Well that ends now as I show off this front lip treatment for the GTi from ABT Tuning.  I think this setup looks pretty fresh and you can also add the option of a carbon fiber splitter as seen in the pic.  If you’re rockin’ a GTi and this catches your fancy, hit up GGI Tuning to place an order.

SPOTTED: Vaddie’s 2009 Lexus IS-F

Posted on 01.19.09 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

You thought we got rid of the whole “spotted” thing didn’t you?  Well you were wrong!  This time we’re checking out a fellow Lexus IS-F owned by Vaddie.  In fact we think this might be the first IS-F to get the Ventross carbon fiber lip after the prototype on our project car.  Vaddie is also rocking a nice set of 20 inch interad wheels.  Very nice!  If you want to see more of this car check out Vaddie’s CarDomain page.

SEMA Project IS-F GT Update: Front Lip and Interior

Posted on 09.24.08 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Hey everyone.  I know its been a while since our last post on our project but I have a few more sneak peaks for you.  We just got our seats back and man do they look sick! Every part of the stock seat that had the perforated leather has now been swapped with smooooth blue alcantara to match the stock blue stiching.

Also as you can see in the above pic our front lip is coming along nicely.  What you see in the pic is just a plug.  When its all done it will be a full vaccum bagged dry carbon piece and there is more carbon on the way.  Mum’s the word on the carbon smith responsible for this awesome piece but all will be revealed at the appropriate time.

That’s it for now but in the near future you’ll see some more carbon upgrades, our wheels will finally be revealed, you’ll see a major change in the stopping dept, and we have some suspension mods on the way.

MotorworldHype IS-GT

Project Philosophy and Notes

The goal behind the MotorworldHype Lexus ISF-GT concept was to evolve the already potent performance potential of the Lexus IS-F to make it an even more track ready street machine. Our goal was to prepare a concept that would still be easily drivable on a day-to-day basis yet more potent and more apt for track day excursions at racecourses like Fuji Speedway, Laguna Seca, or the Nurburgring.

The ISF-GT concept is designed for the individual who not only enjoys his performance car on the streets and byways of the city but also on the paved racecourses of tracks around the globe. This concept is meant for the motoring enthusiast and track affectionado.

The IS-F is a visually stunning piece of automotive art with a more than ample amount of performance to back up its looks.  However our team feels felt that there was another level attainable for the IS-F, a level that a select few would want to attain.  Many aspirational automotive brands have special editions for their flag ship models: Ferrari has the F430 Scuderia, Porsche has the GT3 RS, and Mercedes the CLK63 Black Series.  All of the aforementioned cars were built for the discriminating enthusiast who wanted a rare limited edition version of the best they could get. The ISF-GT concept was designed with same philosophy.

To accomplish our goals we developed vacuum bagged carbon fiber components that increased aerodynamic efficiency with the addition of a front splitter, rear diffuser, and boot-lid trunk. To further improve handling on and off the track a full suspension package was developed by Tein to achieve a slightly stiffer chassis and also to allow for driver adjustments that would enable him to tune the car. This combination allowed for greater set-up adjustability for those track-attacking sessions. We also worked to reduce rotational mass with a lighter wheel package and looked to improve grip by widening the track with wider wheels and tires. We also bumped performance a bit with addition of a more efficient exhaust system. We looked to improve braking performance a more aggressive Brembo 6 piston front caliper and rotor set up. We feel that with these upgrades and modifications we have created a car that is still civil for the streets yet a bit more focused to hit the track.

We also strived to create a concept that would be easy to duplicate so any IS-F owner could take his Lexus and create our GT package with ease. We looked to build a vehicle with high quality goods that we would feature and highlight on our website MotorworldHype.com. It was our intention to show current and future IS-F owners that there is an easy to attain evolutionary package for their already potent IS-F that would make it even more of a track attacker. We hope to have showcased a concept that can easily be re-created that gives those owners who are more apt to take days off to hit the track something that is even more sporty, a bit faster, and more rewarding to drive on those trips to places like Laguna Seca or whatever local racecourse is close to home.

Project ISF-GT is a concept meant for that motoring enthusiast.  Inspired by the Team Lexus GT2 IS race-car, Project ISF-GT is meant to compliment what the IS-F is with subtle yet functional modifications that will instantly speak to the hearts of any performance enthusiast.
