SEMA 2012 Preview: Evasive Motorsports Is Supercharging Their Scion FR-S With Help From HKS

Posted on 10.18.12 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Yesterday I showed you a preview of Jon Sibal and RJ De Vera’s Scion FR-S “NuR” concept which will have a Vortech supercharger under the hood.  Today, it can be confirmed that Vortech is not the only team out there looking to develop a supercharger for the FR-S.  The guys at Evasive Motorsports have just received a supercharger unit from HKS for their FR-S project and they are in the process of installing it right now as you can see in the pictures.  It looks like they are also getting some major help from Project Mu and Voltex on their build as well.

Knowing how the Evasive guys opperate I am pretty sure that their finished project will be all about lap times as these guys are serious track day fanatics!

Hype Collab: Voltex Japan x Evasive Motorsports Honda S2000 Body Kit Available In March

Posted on 02.13.12 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Way back in 2009 the guys from Evasive Motorsports began a collaboration with the aero masters of Voltex Japan on a body kit for the Honda S2000.  Evasive offered up a brand new S2k for the Voltex artists to scuplt upon and evetually a prototype was made.  Evasive then spent the next year and a half developing and testing the kit at time attack events and numerous trackdays.  Now after all the sketching, sculpting, testing, and driving Evasive has announced that their Voltex collab kit will finally be available for public consumption this year with first shipments arriving in March.  Hopefully you found some way to pre-order this kit from them a long time ago, otherwise you are probably looking at a pretty lengthy waiting list.  Although I would probably say the wait will be worth it!

Wheel Hype: Volk AECROS “ECO Drive” Series

Posted on 10.19.11 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

It has been a while since we’ve had some good wheel hype here.  Allow me to end the drought and present to you the new AECROS wheel from Volk.  The AECROS wheel is a part of Volk’s new “ECO Drive” series targeted at eco-friendly performance vehicles like the Honda CR-Z.  The AECROS is forged and weighs in at a scant 15.4lbs per wheel so you definitely wont hurt your fuel economy with a bunch of added weight.  However, the most important part about the AECROS is that it looks F’ing FRESH!  It is nice to see that despite being targeted for the tree huggers Volk did not dumb down their design for this wheel.  While they look great on a CR-Z these wheels would probably look great on just about anything!

Wheel Hype: Special Edition Gloss White Volk Racing TE37SL At Evasive Motorsports

Posted on 09.26.11 | admin No Comments

RAYS Engineering in Japan recently rolled out a production runof the TE37SL (Super Lap) in a special edition gloss white color straight from the factory.  The guys at Evasive Motorsports put in an order for sizes specific to the Mitsubishi Evo X (18×10.5 +15).  So if you are an Evo driver you may want to jump on this ASAP.  Note: because of the aggressive size if your Evo X is lowered you might need to roll your fenders to fit these bad boys on.  A set of four will set you back just over $3k.

Anti-Theft Hype: Project Kics License Plate Lock Bolts

Posted on 09.07.11 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Identity theft is a major problem all over the world which is why in countries like Japan it is required for car owners to use special bolts on their license plates to keep them from being stolen.  We don’t have that law here in the states but it couldn’t hurt to protect your plate (and potentially your nice license plate frame) from theft as well.  A set of these Project Kics License Plate Lock Bolts should do nicely for that task.  These specially designed bolts can only be removed with the key (included obviously) and are sure to protect your plate and maybe even your frame from would be thieves.  You can pick up a set of four bolts at Evasive Motorsports for about 30 bucks; which is a small price to pay if it means preventing some jackass from stealing your plate and slapping it on their getaway car the next time they decide to rob a liquor store!
