Hype Preview: Cosworth EC Pro For Mitsubishi Evo X

Posted on 10.21.09 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Coming soon is the second application of Cosworth’s new stand alone ECU.  The first EC Pro dropped earlier this year for the WRX but come SEMA time we will see the debut of a new Cosworth EC Pro for the Mitsubishi Evo X.  There are a ton tuning and data-logging possibilities with this thing however I’m no where near smart enough to understand them all! As you may have guessed the EC Pro is meant for serious tuners only.  So if you get this you better make sure you know what you’re doing or you know someone (or a shop) that knows what they’re doing!

Cobb Tuning ACCESS Tuner For Nissan 370Z

Posted on 07.02.09 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

If you’re planning on turning your brand new Nissan 370Z in to an all out race car then engine management is going to be a big concern.  The Cobb Tuning ACCESS Port is aweome for most street applications but for a racing set up you need a little more depth.  Thats where their ACCESS Tuner software comes in.  It pretty much allows for full on custom mapping for anything you’re trying to do with your Z.  Rumor has it that there is a custom map you can create that will turn your car into a Transformer….just a rumor though…

I saw this on GTRmod.com.  Haltech currently working on a stand-alone ECU unit for the GT-R that will be under their Platinum series.  There will be a boost control solinoid and wideband controller available as well.  I can’t wait to see what some crazy mofo with gobs of cash does to his or her GT-R with this thing once it drops.

Active Autowerke 2008 E90 M3, 2008 E92 M3 Performance Software

Posted on 02.04.09 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Its been a while since I checked in on these guys.  They’ve been busy!  They have this new software flash for the E90 and E92 BMW M3 that increases power by 15HP.  Now you’re probably thinking that 15 horses isn’t much but this is an increase across the entire power band.  That’s pretty impressive if you ask me!  The software even comes with a “launch control” feature so even if you dont have the 6 speed manual you can still put rubber down like a pro.

Here is a vid of the launch control feature in action:

Mine’s VX-ROM For Nissan 370Z (Z34)

Posted on 01.27.09 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Well at the top of the “that didn’t take long list” is sitting a brand new reflashed ECU for the freshly released Nissan 370Z.  Of course this was pulled off by Mine’s Japan, the same tuning house that was the first to crack the “un-crackable” Nissan GT-R ECU.  So what did Mine’s do with the 370Z ECU?  For starters the speed limiter is removed, the rev limit is increased, and a new fuel map was flashed to increase performance.  However it still retains the factory emission controls and “immobilizer” function.  For the time being it might be hard to pick this up stateside but hit up their U.S. Distributor to see what they can do.
