Hype Video: Indy Car Driver J.R. Hildebrand Jumps Into Tyler McQuarrie’s Formula Drift GoPro Camaro (Video)

Posted on 01.30.13 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Tyler McQuarrie is not just a Formula Drift driver, he is also the owner of his team.   When you own a motorsport team you pretty much get to do whatever the heck you want.  In this case Tyler decided he wanted to let his friend Indy Car driver (and fellow GoPro athelete) J.R. Hildebrand take a few laps in his snarling beast of a Camaro.  How does J.R. do?  Could this be a new career path for the young open wheel driver?  Probably not.  But the driver does know how to go sideways.  You can watch it all for yourself in the video below.  Fun fact: all the footage you will see was shot with GoPro HERO3′s

Hype Boost: Edelbrock “E-Force” Supercharger For ’10-’12 Camaro SS

Posted on 09.19.12 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

If there is one thing I love about the current crop of American muscle cars is that they are so ready for massive, irresponsible amounts of aftermarket power.  I really think if V8s and superchargers were people they would be married with 10 kids.  They love each other that much.

Anyhow, the reason why I bring this up is because whenever I get a modern muscle car, I plan on supercharging it.  As such I like to see the options out there for such a thing, and I have to say I am the most impressed with Edelbrock.  They have almost all the bases covered, they have a full line of street legal kits, and they back up just about everything they make with a warranty!

For those of you out there with the current gen Camaro SS you might want to consider their “E-Force” kit.  It will get you to just shy of 600HP, about 550ft-lbs of torque, and its all legal!  If I go with a Camaro myself I think this is the direction I am going to head in.

SEMA 2011: Hot Wheels Chevrolet Camaro Concept

Posted on 11.07.11 | admin No Comments

General Motors had a HUGE exhibit at the SEMA show this year and there were more than a few head turners but the Hot Wheels Camaro concept screamed for all the attention.  Chevy and Hot Wheels went all out on this build right down to the Hot Wheels Track presentation.  We know the special “Over Chrome” green paint will probably be polarizing to say the least but we dig it.  We also like the other more subtle exterior touches like the Hot Wheels emblems and the ZL1 grille.  However, before you shrug this off as a show-queen you should probably know that there is a 6.2 liter LS3 V8 with 426HP under that brightly colored and decorated hood.  So to recap this Camaro has looks, power, and a theme that brings us back to our favorite childhood toy.  I think that officially makes this a dream car!  The toy version of this build is already on our x-mas list.
