Florida-based BMW tuner Active Autowerke has been busy! I haven’t checked in for a while but when I did I saw that they’ve added a whole new level to their popular BMW E9X (E90, E92) M3 supercharger package. I meant that literally! There really is a whole new level, well “stage” rather. Their new Stage 2 supercharger kit for the E9X M3 is built around an HKS GTS-8550 centrifugal supercharger unit that is mounted with Active Autowerke’s own custom bracket which utilizes a dedicated belt drive design. You also get bigger injectors, custom software, and a beautifully designed Active Autowerke custom intake plenum with 8 velocity stacks built into it. When I say beautiful I mean it! These guys are artisans with a CNC machine. If you want the stage 2 kit it will set you back about $15,000. But hey, if you’re nice they may give you a deal. Call these guys up pronto!
The advanced design and sleek features of the Active Autowerke Supercharger System include a front mount air-to-air intercooler system with a separate oil cooler for the supercharger unit’s independent oil system. The Active Autowerke Supercharger Plenum replaces the factory air box and is designed to have an OEM-type look with custom finishes available at the customer’s request. The Active Autowerke Supercharger Plenum has been designed with eight high-flow velocity stacks, and large three inch intercooler piping to supply cooled air.
The custom Active Autowerke Filter mounts to the supercharger unit and is enclosed in a custom intake box engineered to incorporate factory design while forcing cool air to the air box. The optional methanol injection system assists in lowering intake air temperatures and prevents detonation.
The standard finish on the Active Autowerke Supercharger Plenum is a matte wrinkle black, custom colors are also available for an additional cost.
The Active Autowerke Supercharger System is powered by an HKS GTS8550 Supercharger Unit mounted with a custom CNC’ed bracket that uses a dedicated drive belt system, while eight high flow fuel injectors are used to supply the additional required fuel. Active Autowerke’s Performance Software, available for 91-93 octane, race gas, and octane levels unique to other countries, is carefully calibrated, and is at the heart of the system to provide an unparalleled driving experience. Keeping within the factory’s OBDII parameters, the Active Autowerke Supercharger System ensures consistency for everyday driving.

When the Audi R8 was released it was love at first sight for many affluent enthusiasts and it was no time before they were all spoken for. Then Audi went and released a V10 version of the R8 with more power and the same balance. So what were V8 variant owners to do? Heffner Performance says “boost it.” The Florida based exotic tuner just reached completion on their twin-turbo kit for the Audi R8 8-cylinder variant. On 93 octane and 6psi of boost you can expect an approximate 180WHP gain over stock bringing the total into the 530HP range. Not bad for only 6 pounds of boost! Now, if you weren’t an early adopter and waited for the V10 have no worries because Heffner is already in the R&D process for the V10.
If you’re looking to go extra stealth on your turbo application then Mishimoto’s Z Line intercooler might fit with your theme. Its thin, black, inconspicuous, but can still handle up to 22lbs of boost. This unit will definitely keep your turbo snail happy.
This is one of my favorite Pac Rim shirts. It features three fat turbos with the caption “No Lag, All Boost“. There really isn’t anything else that needs to be said or shown after that. Truth! There is only one more of these left so if you want it, click fast.
I dig stealth aftermarket parts. I know some may disagree but I’m a fan of the whole “sleeper” concept. This black universal intercooler from Mishimoto is a good option if you want to remain in sleeper mode but add some inconspicuous boost.
Greddy isn’t dead people! They are surely alive and kicking and still putting out high quality stuff! Check out this new bit. Its their new more adjustable Type RZ Blow Off Valve with a 40mm valve and funnel outlet. Right now their available in a limited edition “stealth” color. That’s right this BOV is trained in the art of invisibility. Ninja vannish!!
If you’re old school on the Euro tip and rock a E36 M3 (which are a mint to find on the used market) and you want to keep up with the newer generations like the E46 and E92 then boost is the way to go! Even though their stage 2 kit is discontinued their stage 1 is still available and still gives the same 50% boost in power that it always has.
Need more power for your Honda Fit. Add some boost with this bolt on Turbo Kit from HKS. It’s legal in all 50 states!
The HKS Honda Fit Bolt-on Turbo Kit was developed with reliability and performance in mind. Earning an Executive Order by the California Air Resources Board (E.O.# D-186-27), the simple-to-install Turbo Kit includes a front mount intercooler, which improves charge air density, while enhancing the engine performance. The pre-programmed HKS F-Con IS engine management system included in the kit maintains the proper fuel and timing strategies.
The T25 Turbo allows for a faster spool up at a lower RPM range resulting in better response and low-end acceleration. HKS’ SMF Reloaded intake system, included in the kit, allows for improved filtration and increased airflow.
With the turbo boost level pre-set to 5.7 psi and tuned with the Pre-programmed F-Con IS on 91+ octane fuel, HKS’ bolt-on turbo kit, combined with the optional HKS Hi-Power exhaust and upgraded HKS spark plugs produced a performance gain of approximately 30 % gain in peak horsepower without significantly impacting the excellent MPG the Fit is known for.
The 2007 Honda Fit Bolt-on Turbo Kit, CARB E.O. # D-186-27, is available now.
What’s the best way to extract power out of an already powerful rip-snortin’ HEMI? Supercharge the *explitive* out of it thats how. GS Motorsports makes a kit for HEMI motors that can stand up to a beating. Sam Hubinette had one of these on his personal Dodge Charger and he soundly thrashed on it every chance he got.
