Hype Preview: Vorsteiner “Renazzo V” Tuning Program For Lamborghini Gallardo LP

Posted on 12.12.12 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Little by little Vorsteiner is venturing out from their usual German nameplate tuning into other regions of Europe like the UK with their Bentley packages and Italy, starting with Ferrari and now continuing with a full tuning program for 2009+ Lamborghini Gallardo LP models.  The new program named “Renazzo V” completely transforms the Gallardo into a full-on carbon fiber switch blade, adding several new angles and edges to increase its aggressive look and save weight.  The aero package has at least nine total pieces to help better channel air and add downforce while keeping weight gain minimal.  The package is finished off with a set of aluminum forged Vorsteiner wheels.

Right now the pictures below are just a preview.  This package will not be available until February/March of 2013 and as of now the MSRP is unknown but I would venture a guess that it will be in the $15-$20k range.  That price is shocking for us regular folk but probably chump change for the men and women that make up Vorsteiner’s clientele!

German Hype: Vorsteiner To Release Tuning Program For W218 (2010+) Mercedes Benz CLS 63 AMG

Posted on 08.03.12 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

The CLS has a special place in our hearts at MotorworldHype as my buddy and co-founder RJ de Vera once had a Mercedes Benz CLS of his own a few years ago; So whenever we see something new for the CLS it usually grabs our attention pretty quickly.  Owners of the current (W218) CLS 63 AMG might be happy to know that Vorsteiner is working on a tuning program for the “coupe” that should be releasing near the end of the summer.  Vorsteiner kept things simple with this package by keeping it to a subtle lip in the front, front grill replacement, fender appliques, understated side skirts, a rear diffuser, and boot lid spoiler.  As always each part of the aero package is made from Vorsteiner’s autoclaved carbon fiber.  The program is finished off with a set of forged Vorsteiner wheels (19 inches up to 21), a titanium exhaust, and custom Vorsteiner floor and trunk mats.

So far there is no word on MSRP or exactly when the program will be available.  As of now all we have to go on is “late Summer 2012″.  I would probably make a guess that we should see it ready for sale towards the end of  August.  If I get anymore updates I will post them ASAP!  In the meantime check out some very realistic renderings of what the program will look like when its released.

Nissan Hype: Tommy Kaira “Silver Wolf” GT-R

Posted on 03.05.12 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Remember Tommy Kaira?  My first exposure to the Japanese tuner was the very first Gran Turismo for Playstation.  Their one-offs of Japanese supercars were wet dream fodder for any Japanese car enthusiast.  Well despite the economic downturn Tommy is still kicking and still tinkering with Japan’s best.  The “Silver Wolf” is Tommy Kaira’s take on the Nissan GT-R.  Their package is mostly superficial though with the crazy body kit you see in the picture plus a completely redone interior.  Although they do add some performance with a titanium exhaust and improve stopping power with an AP Brake kit.  I will say they took it too far with the sicssor doors though.  A bit over the top there Tommy!

Anyhow if you want the exterior parts for yourself, the complete kit will set you back about 1,600,000 yen or just under $19,600 USD.  Not to mention a 4 to 6 month wait since everything will be coming to you via boat from Japan, which means you would probably want to spring for the “Godzilla insurance”…

Hype Preview: Vorsteiner Teases 991 Porsche Carrera & Carrera S Tuning Package

Posted on 02.24.12 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

The new Porsche 991 Carrera and Carrera is upon us and Vorsteiner is ready for it.  Today they released a teaser rendering of what the new Carrera will look like once they are done with it and from the looks of things I think this new package will be a hot ticket among Porsche-fanantics.  Their “V-GT” program will address all four sides of the vehicle (front spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser, and rear duckbill spoiler) while also replacing the bonnet with a more aerodynamically sound sculpted piece.  As usual all the aero pieces included with the package will be made from Vorsteiner’s autoclaved pre-preg carbon fiber.  Vorsteiner is also throwing in a set of forged aluminum wheels (20 or 21 inch) and a titanium exhaust system with valve control.  Pricing and availability have yet to be released but I am sure if you contact Vorsteiner they can probably direct you to a dealer who will be taking pre-orders.

Parts List:

• Front Add-On Spoiler with integrated brake duct collectors Carbon Fiber Pre-Preg Autoclave
• Front GT Replaceable Center Splitter for additional downforce in Optical Carbon Fiber Pre-Preg Autoclave
• Side Skirt Panels with Integrated Carbon Fiber Blade Extension Element
• Lightweight re-sculpted front bonnet in Carbon Fiber Pre-Preg Autoclave
• Rear Add-On Diffuser with Integrated Aero Fins Carbon Fiber Pre-Preg Autoclave
• Rear Add-On Ducktail Wing Spoiler Element Carbon Fiber Pre-Preg Autoclave
• Lightweight Replacement Carbon Fiber Roof Panel
• 20 inch | 21 inch Forged Aluminum Wheel Options

Nissan GT-R Hype: BenSopra Wide Body Kit

Posted on 02.21.12 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Widebody Porsches are nice (Thanks RWB) but I personally would like to see more widebody Japanese cars so I should thank BenSpora for what they are doing with the Nissan GT-R.  If you have not heard of BenSopra of Japan it is likely because they normally deal with Lamborghinis but with the resurgence of godzilla, BenSopra has decided to apply their talents to Japan’s favorite supercar.  While there are not many widebody kits for the GT-R I will say I really like what BenSopra has done here.  My favorite part about the kit is that the entire front end is actually one piece.  I am not sure if that improves aerodynamic efficiency much but I just think its cool that they took that step, and I am not the only one that thinks so.  GReddy chose BenSopra to outfit their 35RX top speed time attack car.  In fact, if you live state side and you are interested in a BenSopra kit for your GT-R you can actually order one through GReddy instead of doing it the hard way and trying to go through BenSopra Japan directly.  I am guessing it is only a matter of a few months before we see the first BenSopra kit stateside.

Hype Collab: Voltex Japan x Evasive Motorsports Honda S2000 Body Kit Available In March

Posted on 02.13.12 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Way back in 2009 the guys from Evasive Motorsports began a collaboration with the aero masters of Voltex Japan on a body kit for the Honda S2000.  Evasive offered up a brand new S2k for the Voltex artists to scuplt upon and evetually a prototype was made.  Evasive then spent the next year and a half developing and testing the kit at time attack events and numerous trackdays.  Now after all the sketching, sculpting, testing, and driving Evasive has announced that their Voltex collab kit will finally be available for public consumption this year with first shipments arriving in March.  Hopefully you found some way to pre-order this kit from them a long time ago, otherwise you are probably looking at a pretty lengthy waiting list.  Although I would probably say the wait will be worth it!

German Hype: Vorsteiner Reveals V-MS Program For F10 BMW 5 Series (With Video)

Posted on 12.30.11 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

The artisans at Vorsteiner have been really freaking busy in this last quarter of the year.  They have worked their magic on a plethora of European hotness and they are continuing the trend with their new V-MS program for the F10 BMW 5 Series.  The program includes an aero package (front spoiler, rear spoiler and rear diffuser) of which all components are made from pre-preg autoclaved carbon fiber, 20 or 21 inch one-piece forged wheels, and a sport exhaust to finish things off.  There is a full gallery below that lets you get a look at Vorsteiner’s newest creation at all angles.  I also highly suggest watching the video below the pictures if you want to get a taste of the glorious exhaust sound they have created for this package.  I already know I am going to see a lot of V-MS packages sported at the next Bimmerfest.

SEMA 2011: Mansory Ferrari 458 Italia By RTW Motoring

Posted on 11.07.11 | admin No Comments

When attending the SEMA show you can always count on Pirelli to bring something special.  We still remember the year that they brought a genuine Pagani Zonda R to Vegas.  That was the first time we were able to get our grubby hands on the legendary beast.  This year the highlight of their booth was a Ferrari 458 Italia clad in the complete Mansory carbon fiber aero package built by RTW Motoring here in southern California.  One would think that the naked carbon and vents everywhere would be a turn-off but somehow this kit just seems to work.  Which, is amazing because we know that when Mansory gets it wrong they get it very, very wrong.  This Ferrari probably wont get any awards but it is easily one of our favorite cars of the show this year.
