One of our biggest pet peeves here at MotorworldHype is counterfeit products. They hurt the market and the companies behind the products they copy and they’re always significantly inferior to the originals. Sometimes counterfeits are so inferior that they are dangerous. Such is the case with a recent batch of counterfeit AC Schnitzer wheels impounded by German authorities. AC Schnitzer had the fakes tested by the TUEV and they were found to basically fall apart.
These wheels could have killed someone had they not been intercepted in time! Luckily once AC Schnitzer got their hands on them they immediately took them to the scrap yard to get ground into bits. Check it out below.
I’ll be totally honest with you, at first glance I thought these wheels where F’ing hideous! I couldn’t believe that AC Schnitzer of all people could create such a thing but after the initial shock, my inner self and I came to a concensus. It isn’t that the wheel is nessasarily ugly, its just AC Schnitzer decided to show them off on the wrong colored car. If you check them out you’ll see that the Type VIII wheels are all displayed on white cars. In this writer’s humble opinion the black with brushed aluminum wheels on a white car just don’t work!
Use your mind’s eye to picture these very same wheels on a black car. I think you’ll hear an internal sigh of relief at the mental picture. So conclusion these wheels are fresh but if my BMW was white I wouldn’t rock ‘em!
If you’re in the market for some fresh goods for your BMW, Porsche, Audi, Mercedes, or Exotic then I suggest you make plans to go to CEC’s Summer Sale & Backyard Bash this Saturday (August 8th). They’ll have deep discounts on almost all the brands they carry including: Brabus, AC Schnitzer, Antera, ACE Forged, and TechArt. They’ll also have BBQ, music, and drinks. Sounds like a party to me!
Its official…I need to rob a bank, get a BMW 7 Series, and then pick up this awesome tuning program from AC Schnitzer. If you don’t here from me for 5 to 10 years it means I got caught.
This one got away from me for a while but AC Schnitzer has a new lip kit for the BMW 1 Series. The front end is a little bit on the bulgy side but I think in some of the other OEM colors besides sliver this kit will really set off the car.
If you’re out to make your German performance car corner better than it already does out of the box you could hit up CEC. They’re now carring a brand new suspension system by AC Schnitzer for the E90/E92 BMW M3 as well as the 3 series coupe. Now you know, and blah blah. Go get one! Now! Schnell!
A shift knob with a digital gear display! Sweet! Ok, most likely none of you would actually “need” this little device but it ads a touch of cool to the interior nonetheless. AC Schnitzer says that this knob will work with most late model and a few earlier model Mini’s and BMW’s with manual transmissions.
The new E92 M3 does not need any help when it comes to styling. However this AC Schnitzer carbon fiber lip kit definitely doesn’t hurt! It’s clean and compliments the car’s lines nicely. Of course, as with all things German, its completely functional as well.
