I honestly did not think Power House Amuse would be able to top the Superleggera arero that was tailor made for the 350Z (Z33). However I can happily say I stand corrected! Their new Vestito kit for the Nissan 370Z is one of the freshest aero treatments I’ve seen on ANY car! I am sure some will probably think this is too much, too wide, etc but to me the lines are perfectly balanced.
As far as I know, you can’t buy the Vestito kit in America yet but, I would be willing to bet that if anyone has it or is going to get it, it will probably be Bulletproof Automotive and/or Evasive Motorsports. If you have the cash (I’m guessing this kit will go for at least $10k) I would jump on the phone with one or both of those shops and see what you can do about a pre-order ASAP.
This is big news if you happen to live in the big state of Texas. Mayday Garage just announced that Japanese tuning legend “Smokey” Nagata from Top Secret will make an apperance at the Import Reactor car show. Not only will he be there as a guest but he is going to personally tune 20 Nissans over the span of three days! So what is the occasion? Well, Top Secret is working on a new stand-alone ECU dubbed “Top Secret Process” and the marathon tuning session is meant to prototype the new unit here in the states. If you own a Nissan and live in the Houston area I suggest you do whatever you can within the boundaries of the law to make sure you are one of the lucky 20 cars to get tuned by Smokey! If you really are that young and don’t know who Smokey is or how he got his nickname then check out the video below.
If you were holding out on picking up the new 370Z then I think now is the time to pull the trigger. Nissan just announced a 40th Anniversarymodel to celebrate the sixth generation of the Z. The 40th Anniversary 370Z starts off as a Coupe in “Touring” trim with the viscous LSD, front lip, rear spoiler, and the Rays wheels. Where it starts to get exclusive is the aesthetics. The new anniversary model comes in a limited “40th Quartz” paint job and what Nissan calls “smoke finish” wheels, which are really a satin matte black with red brake calipers in the background. Inside is a special edition red leather interior with badging and and embossed “40th Anniversary” logo on the seats. Also just to make you feel special Nissan will throw in a plaque of authenticity and satin car cover.
Personally, I’m really feeling it. I love the color, the wheels, and the interior is fresh. Nissan also did the right thing by building it on a touring model instead of a base so you still get more than just the extra flash. If you’re feeling it too then jump quick because Nissan is only producing 1,000 units. With the price hovering just below $40k it should go pretty quickly unless dealers mark it up.
A good cooling plate for your radiator really gives you the best of both worlds. If it’s made correctly it will actually provide a cooling benefit for your radiator and typically a well made cooling plate also looks really, really cool under the hood. This dry carbon cooling plate by Password:JDM for the 370Z heavily leans towards the legit side. And, since it is made from dry carbon it is a lot lighter than a regular carbon fiber piece that’s been slathered with a crappy clear coat.
I slept on this one a bit but HKS dropped a dual version of their “Hi-Power” Exhaust for the 370Z. Not sure how much power it makes but if its made by HKS its a safe bet that they’ll be a noticable improvement. You also get titanium tips which freshens up the look nicely. This is defnitely a nice option if youre a Z guy in the market for an exhaust right now.
If you’re planning on turning your brand new Nissan 370Z in to an all out race car then engine management is going to be a big concern. The Cobb Tuning ACCESS Port is aweome for most street applications but for a racing set up you need a little more depth. Thats where their ACCESS Tuner software comes in. It pretty much allows for full on custom mapping for anything you’re trying to do with your Z. Rumor has it that there is a custom map you can create that will turn your car into a Transformer….just a rumor though…
Nissan finally gave us the official price tag on the much anticipated NISMO 370Z. Despite the god-hood that is the GT-R some of us do actually still care about the new Z a lot! And for those who don’t quite have the scratch for the GT-R a NISMO Z is a great alternative especially since Nissan is setting the MSRP at half the price! The 2009 NISMO 370Z will start at $39,130. While that is a bit more than what the previous NISMO Z went for, when you think about what you get in the new 370Z $39k is a pretty decent price. The only trouble now is trying to get your hands on one before they’re all spoken for.

The 2009 Nissan NISMO 370ZTM, which is equipped with a 350-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 and close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission with SynchroRev Match, has a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price* (MSRP) of US $39,130. Only three accessories are available on this well equipped vehicle - NISMO carpeted floor mats, illuminated kick plates and a carpeted trunk mat.
“The new NISMO Z® is a tuner and Z® enthusiast’s dream - straight from the factory,” said Pat Steiner, Director, Specialty Vehicles, Nissan Division, NNA. “With its dramatic exterior, custom interior, sport-tuned performance and under $40,000 price, this new NISMO Z® is possibly the best ‘bang-for-the-buck’ sports car available today.”
After the initial media test drives many journalists touted the new Nissan 370Z as one of the best handling Z’s Nissan has ever built. So who do you think would take on the task of trying to take the best and make it better? I’ll give you some hints: they live in Germany, they’re ninjas, and they’re magical like elfs but they don’t live in a tree… By now you should have guessed that I’m talking about KW Automotive. They just put out the word that they released their famous Variant 3 coilover system for the new Z. You can expect the same adjustibility of ride height and dampening on any other Variant 3 system.
I was crusing ARC’s Japanese blog and I found this picture. Now if my Japanese is as good as I know it is, this is either an oil cooler or some kind of mobile car mounted mind control device. Either way if ARC makes it, its capiable of something awesome.
