Cosworth Subaru EJ257 High Volume Inlet Manifold

Posted on 03.13.09 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Check it out, Cosworth sent us information on their brand new Subaru EJ257 inlet manifold just before it goes on sale to the public.  They’ve been working on this for a while and they’ve finally perfected a high flow inlet manifold with a plenum designed to work with any Subaru EJ257 engine that has a front mount intercooler.  If you have a front mount intercooler kit that is made to work with the stock Subaru plenum it will work fine with Cosworth’s new manifold.  Look at how serious it is sitting in the engine bay!  FRESH!

Press Release:

The Cosworth Subaru High Volume Inlet Manifold is cast from aluminum featuring large tapered runners with radiused inlets for improved air flow. Plenum volume has been substantially increased and tuned for power. Engineered for easy installation and is the key to making big power. The Cosworth EJ257 plenum is designed for use with the 2004-2009 STI engines equipped with electronic throttle control.

The Cosworth High Volume Inlet Manifold replaces the factory Subaru plenum in vehicles equipped with an aftermarket front-mounted intercooler (FMIC) kit. Throttle body position remains stock, ensuring fitment with any brand FMIC kit designed for the stock throttle body and intake manifold. For 2008-2009 Subaru STIs the Cosworth FMIC kit (p/n 20005378) is highly recommended.

• Substantially increased plenum volume
• Large, tapered runners with radius inlets
• Tuned plenum volume and runner length/taper
• Over 10% increase in flow
• Integral vacuum manifold for connection of brake booster, boost gauge, MAP sensor, boost controller, etc.
• Will work with standard or forward mount electronic throttle body configurations
• Stock throttle body location for compatibility with most aftermarket FMIC kits

MSRP $999.00

Password:JDM Dry Carbon Fiber Trunk For Nissan GT-R

Posted on 03.09.09 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Looks like PasswordJDM is the first to bring a carbon fiber GT-R trunk to the American market.  It actually looks pretty nice.  The weave looks good and they claim to use a very high quality epoxy resin that’s so awesome that it doesn’t need a clear coat.  I wonder who will be the next ones to drop a GT-R CF trunk?

AC Schnitzer Aero Kit For BMW E82 128i/135i Coupe

Posted on 02.27.09 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

This one got away from me for a while but AC Schnitzer has a new lip kit for the BMW 1 Series.  The front end is a little bit on the bulgy side but I think in some of the other OEM colors besides sliver this kit will really set off the car.

Enkei RPF1 Type II

Posted on 02.23.09 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Check it out, the RPF1 Type II are Enkei wheels that were inspired by the F1 wheels that adorned Lewis Hamilton’s McLaren Mercedes during the 2008 season when he won the championship.  They look pretty fresh and would kill on an Evo or 370Z.

Carlsson Mercedes Benz W204 C-Class Tuning Package

Posted on 02.04.09 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

The new C Class is pretty nice but it just loves subtle modifications.  It changes the feel of the car completely and its almost always for the better.  Carlsson has a package that turns up the agressiveness of the C Class’ hard lines a little while still keeping it classy.

They cover the four sides (front lip, rear diffuser, and side skirts) and they also had a few touches like a grill insert and fog lights.  If you throw down a little more cash you’ll get a set of their RS wheels, sport exhaust, lowering springs, and a trunk lid spoiler.  I’d be done at that point but they have a few interior options if you really want to go all the way.  This is a great option for Benz owners who don’t want to follow the usual path of AMG or Brabus.

Cosworth 2008-2009 Subaru WRX STi Front Mount Intercooler

Posted on 01.30.09 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Some might say that an intercooler is an intercooler.  I say not if its made by Cosworth.  They have a new front mount kit for the 2008-2009 Subaru STi.  It comes with everything you need to install without having to cut or do any fabrication.  They’ve also powdercoated it black just because it’s fresh!  I love Cosworth!

Cobb Tuning Shift Knob For 2004-2009 Subaru WRX/STi

Posted on 01.21.09 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

This slipped under my radar but Cobb Tuning has this special edition shift knob specifically for the 2004-2009 WRX and STi.  This is the first contrasting color shift knob I’ve ever seen and I dig it.  Flat black with a blue colar was definately the right way to go Cobb!

HKS Special Edition Lotus Exhaust

HKS has love for the English!  They have a special edition exhaust just for the Lotus Elise and Exige.  If you happen to own either car this fresh exhaust should hold you over until the Evora comes out.

Cobb Tuning Access Port For 2008 Infiniti G37

Posted on 01.19.09 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

Cobb Tuning’s “Access Port” is probably one of if not the most user-friendly ECU tuner a enthusiast could get their hands on.  Evo and WRX guys have been using the Access Port for years and now its available for the 2008 Infiniti G37.  This a quality buy if you’re looking to get the most out of your G without making the comittment of a turbo or supercharger.

Mines 350Z “Dragless” Carbon Door Handle Surround

Posted on 01.06.09 | Andrew Beckford No Comments

This one might go under the “not really nessasary but I want it anyway” catagory.  Mines partnered up with Mooncraft to produce a set of dry carbon door handle surround pieces that are supposed to minimize turbulent air after the door handle.  Does it really work?  Well this being a Mines product I wouldn’t be surprized if they booked wind tunnel time just to test these things…
