A few months ago before E3, EA games made it known that the next Need For Speed (NFS) game would not be making an appearance at their “EA Play” event. Though they did say that despite not showing up to their own party, there would be a new NFS game announced this year at some point.
At the time, I was left guessing when that could be. Though things became more clear when a live countdown clock was posted on the official Need For Speed website. According to the clock, we’ll see the next Need For Speed game revealed in 18 hours, 39 minutes, and 8 seconds as of the time of me writing this sentence.
The timing of this reveal comes just a few days before Gamescom convention in Germany. If you’re unaware, Gamescom is essentially the European version of E3.
So, we know when we’ll see the next NFS game, but we still know damn near nothing about it beyond that. Any suggestion of what comes next for Need For Speed is purely speculation at this point.
Could it be a sequel to Need For Speed Payback (a game I enjoyed by the way)? Or will it be a remake of a previous game in the franchise?
Will it have a “games as a service” model?
Hardcore fans have been practically begging for a Need For Speed: Underground remake for years now. Will they give the fans what they want? Who knows!
I guess we’ll all find out together in exactly 18 hours, 34 minutes, and 22 seconds from this moment in time.

Also, stay tuned because as soon as its revealed I’ll post all the info here.
