The Google Stadia online stream just ended a few moments ago and it served up more information on the new game streaming service. Oh, in case you have no freaking clue what I’m talking about, Stadia is essentially a “Netflix” style streaming service but for video games. The promise is that Stadia can serve up a high quality gaming experience without the need for a gaming PC or console via an online connection.
During the online streaming event this morning Google revealed the first batch of games that will be available on the streaming service. If you’re a gamer there are some heavy hitting titles on the list. However, what caught my attention is that Ubisoft’s The Crew 2 will be one of the games in that first roll out.
The Crew 2 is a massive open world racing game that features a bunch of different environments and a bunch of different vehicle types. A game like that seems like it would really push something like Stadia to its limits.
I am curious to see how it works out. I am also curious to see if there will be other racing games coming to Stadia as well that are yet to be announced next week at E3. As it stands, The Crew 2 is the sole racing title available.
What do you think about The Crew 2 coming to Stadia? Would you be willing to ditch your gaming PC and/or consoles if you can play racing games at high quality over a broadband connection?
