The 2017 Civic Type R will finally hit dealerships soon. However, one lucky (and probably very rich person) will have the chance to own the very first one off the assembly line before anyone else even has the chance to test drive one.
Honda announced today that the first 2017 Civic Type R (Vin 01) in the world, will be auctioned off.
The auction started today on BringATrailer.com and all proceeds from the auction will go to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF). As you may have guessed the PBTF is a wonderful foundation that helps fight the deadliest form of children’s cancer.
There is really no down side here. A chance to get a guaranteed collector’s car while contributing to an amazing cause all at once. Good job Honda!
As of the writing of this post, the high bid is $47,500 and there are 8 days left in the auction so you have plenty of time to put a bid in if you have the coin for it.
If not, I would still highly recommend checking out the PBTF at CureTheKids.org and making a donation!
