Dude, Hot Wheels race tracks are coming to Forza Horizon 3! Not just cool looking Hot Wheels cars like the “Twin Mill”, “Rip Rod”, and the “Boneshaker”, but actual giant orange looping Hot Wheels tracks wrapped all around a virtual Australian city! This is completely nuts! Whew, ok let me take a breath here… Hot Wheels and the Forza Motorsport franchise have had a relationship for a while and this expansion would not be the first time Hot Wheels cars have been added to a Forza game.
However this expansion is the first time that the iconic bright orange Hot Wheels tracks have been a part of the action and that (in theory) is pretty damn cool. The expansion will take place on six islands off the coast of Australia so you will not see any orange race tracks intersecting with any tracks that you have previously experienced in Forza Horizon 3.
The new tracks will also have stunt features like boost pads, corkscrews, large jumps, loops, and half pipes. The expansion will include a new Hot Wheels-themed campaign, 28 new Xbox Live achievements, nine new cars including the aforementioned Twin Mill, Rip Rod, and Boneshaker, and a new “Barn Find” car bringing the total cars added to 10.
The Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels expansion will drop on May 9th. If you have the Forza Horizon 3 expansion pass this expansion will be included. If not, you can buy this expansion for $19.99 on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
The team at Forza will also be live streaming a special launch event for the expansion pack on May 8th at 1pm PDT on their Beam streaming channel at www.beam.pro/ForzaMotorsport.
