Today, Ryan Tuerck wins the “pleasant surprise” award. Why? Well not too long ago Ryan just revealed his new project: a FR-S drift car powered by a Ferrari engine; a Ferrari F 136 V8 engine to be precise. For those who don’t know (which included me before I googled it), the F 136 engine made its debut with the Ferrari F430 in 4.3 liter trim. The engine can also be found in the current Ferrari 458 beefed up to a 4.5 liter displacement.
Ryan hasn’t specified which generation of F 136 engine is being used in the project but that bit of information isn’t nearly as relevant as the fact that this swap is actually being done in the first place! Ryan himself admitted in a twitter post that “Never in a million years did I think this idea would come to light.” Well we all must have jumped in a time machine and gone a million years into the future because it looks like this is totally happening. Personally, I can’t wait to see this thing in action. I already know the experience of hearing a high-strung Ferrari engine sound coming from a FR-S will be weird in the most wonderful way possible!
For the official teaser video of the project, just look below. What do you think about Ryan’s project? Is he crazy? A genius? A crazy genius? Do you think he will use this car in competition or use it strictly for demos and videos? Let me know your thoughts in the comments or tweet to us at @MotorworldHype.
