Hype: Toyota Has Re-created Marty McFly’s Truck In Honor Of Back To The Future Day

Fans of the Back To The Future series have been waiting for this day for 30 years.  As seen in Back To The Future 2, today, October 21st 2015 is when Doc Brown and Marty McFly travel to the future from 1985!  To celebrate this unofficial 80s-holiday Toyota has Re-created Marty McFly’s Toyota truck seen at the end of the first film and again in the beginning of the second film.  Rather than track down a truck from the time period and restore it, Toyota decided to take a 2016 Toyota Tacoma and turn it into a modern replica of Marty’s truck.

Toyota went pretty far to make sure the details of the 2016 version of Marty’s truck matched the version from the 80s, even tracking down the same paint code used on the original truck, restyling the lights to look similar to the earlier design, and most of the original KC exterior components.  I’ve gotta say, despite that this is a one-off to celebrate a special occasion I think if Toyota released this car as a special edition Tacoma they’d sell more than a few as it looks pretty damn good!  Check out the full gallery and press release below with spec sheet and then let us know in the comments what you think about the truck!
