Hype: McLaren Automotive Gives Us Tingly Feelings By Teasing New “650S” Supercar Before Geneva Motorshow

Let’s face it, while they may have their quirks McLaren Automotive can do no wrong.  They have yet to make a misstep since they set off in their epic quest to produce the greatest supercars on the face of the planet.  No one thought they would ever top themselves and produce something better than the legendary McLaren F1 and then they blew everyone’s mind with the P1.  So, taking all of that into account any news that McLaren is working on another car is automatically good news; which is exactly what we got today!

McLaren Automotive has officially announced that they are set to reveal a new supercar dubbed the 650S at the Geneva Motorshow and have teased the interwebs with a glimpse of the car’s badge but that is about all they teased.  All the really important stuff (engine, HP, configuration, number of doors, weight) will all be left to the official reveal but McLaren did state that the 650S is meant to slot between the MP4-12C and the P1 so we already know that this new vehicle will not be an “entry level” McLaren, rather a car for someone who wants something more than a 12C but doesn’t have the connects (or the cash) to step up to a P1.

Although while it will be technically in the middle of the line up I doubt it will have “middle” performance.  I can’t wait to see what this car is all about! You can click the thumbnail to see a full size image of the teaser and scroll below for the incredibly short press release.
