Wheel Hype: Rays Engineering Formula Lug Nuts Make Stealing Wheels Harder Than Solving Da Vinci Code

Wheels are expensive.  Well, let me re-phrase that: good wheels are expensive.  When someone buys a set of quality wheels for their car they are spending anywhere from $1,500 all the way up to $10,000 or more for a set.  With that in mind it is easy to see why getting one’s wheels stolen can be a massive bummer.  Unfortunately, the world hasn’t reached the status of a utopia yet so wheel thieves still exist and anyone with a nice set of wheels is a potential target.

Fortunately there are measures that can be taken to deter would be wheel jackers.  Typically, wheel locks are the way to go but with locks becoming more common, savvy criminals can get around them.  That’s where Rays Engineering Formula lug nuts come in.  These lug nuts need not one, but two different locks to be removed.  The top half needs to be removed with a special hexagon wrench and then the second half requires a completely different hex key.  Factor in that a set comes with enough lug nuts to protect each lug stud on a 4 or 5 lug car and you have a huge headache that no crook wants to deal with.

I’m sure these lug nuts are expensive and are a pain to put on and take off but I imagine it would be a bigger pain to kiss thousands of dollars goodbye and then have to find away to get your car home after you find it on blocks.  In the words of the Wu Tang Clan “Protect ya neck”!
