Gaming Hype: Forza Motorsport 5 Limited Edition Announced. 2014 Audi RS7 Sportback Will Be Cover Car.

Today the team at Turn 10 Studios announced that like the games before it, Forza Motorsport 5 will get the “Limited Edition” treatment!  The limited edition will release at the same time as the standard and “Day One” editions but it will weigh in on consumer wallets a bit more with a $79.99 price tag.

What makes the limited edition worth roughly 80 bucks?  Plenty…  Let’s go down the list shall we?

First of all the limited edition will feature the 2014 Audi RS7 Sportback on its cover which conceals a “steelbook” case for the game disc.  Besides the disc, the case contains Forza Motorsport 5, Xbox One, and Audi window decals.  That’s just the physical goodies.  On to the in-game stuff!

First off the limited edition will come with the “limited edition car pack” (go figure).  The limited edition car pack consists of the following:

-2011 Audi RS3 Sportback,
-2012 Aston Martin Vanquish
-2013 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500
-2013 McLaren P1
-2013 SRT Viper GTS

Also included is VIP membership to the Forza Motorsport 5 community.  VIP members get exclusive benefits like 2x player rewards, access to exclusive online events, a special in-game player badge, and gift cars from Turn 10.  Surprise, surprise VIP members also get the “Forza Motorsport 5 VIP car pack”!  This is another 5 car pack which includes the following:

-1965 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C
-1987 RUF CTR Yellowbird
-1991 Mazda #55 787B Racecar
-2011 Ford F150 SVT Raptor
-2011 Bugatti Veyron Supersport

So far, that’s 10 DLC cars that limited edition owners will get right off the bat.  But wait! There’s more! Limited edition owners will also get the “Day One car pack” which is a three car pack that includes:

-2010 Audi TT RS Coupe
-2013 Ford Focus ST
-2011 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera

That’s 13 cars total not counting the gift cars that Turn 10 will throw in for VIP members! Wait, wait there is even more!  Seriously! Limited edition owners will also get 1,250 free in-game “car tokens”.  Those tokens can be used to instantly purchase just about any other car that doesn’t already come with the limited edition package.  The car tokens alone are worth about 10 bucks.

All of that stuff for an extra 20 bucks doesn’t seem so bad does it?  If all of that sounds like something you want then you can pre-order the limited edition now anywhere that is currently pre-ordering the standard and day one editions of Forza Motorsport 5.
