As one of the few automotive outlets that go to the massive video game convention known as E3, I go in knowing that I am going to have to do a lot of hunting for stuff that is relevant to us. However, one spot I can always count on is the Playseat Racing America booth. If you are unfamiliar with who Playseat Racing is they are a company (based in Europe but with a division here in America) that manufacturers simulator seats specifically for playing your favorite racing games like Forza, Gran Turismo, or iRacing. They always seem to have something new every year at E3, and it is always something that I want pretty damn badly; This year was no different! When I paid them a visit I caught up with Justin King, marketing director of Playseat America and he showed off their new lineup for the second half of 2012 which included the fabled Red Bull F1 seat I showed you way back when.
It turns out the Red Bull licensed F1 seat will in fact come to the American market this year, although it will have a painful price of $1,999.99 but Justin hinted that the price may come down. We also got to see a new “entry level” alcantara seat that has a neat trick, as well as some new Dale Earnhardt Jr. licensed seats. You can take a tour of all of the above in the video below!
