Once again Scion held its annual “Tuner Challenge”. This year the canvas of choice was the new Scion iQ microcar although there were a few entires built on Scion’s xB and tC platforms as well. The contestants of the challenge came up with really cool themes and unique executions including a completely paint-less iQ and a full on track ready race iQ but in the end it was Jon Sibal who took the victory in his Veilside clad widebody creation. Despite the other challengers fully committing to their theme Jon decided to swing for the fences and go for the all around package and came up with a car that could be reasonably adaptable on the street, the track, or a car show.
While Jon’s iQ was the winner of the competition the star of the booth was Scion’s FR-S concept. The FR-S had a constant ring of people around it as photographers and spectators alike did their best to try and get photos of the concept from every possible angle using their point-and-shoots, DSLRs, and cell phones. In other words getting the pictures of the FR-S that you will see in our slide show below was not easy! All in all our visit to the Scion booth was worth the long-ass walk across the Las Vegas convention center. Congrats to Jon for his Tuner Challenge win!
