Formula Drift: Conrad Grunewald Earns First Victory In New Jersey

The day before the Indy Car race Formula Drift made its return to Wall Speedway AKA “The Gauntlet” in New Jersey.  This is easily the toughest round in the series but not technically.  You see the reason why New Jersey is called “The Gauntlet” is because this track is notorious for eating up drift cars.  The track’s extreme banking with a sudden bottom out into the infield has the potential to destroy just about any type of drift car that dares to traverse it.  However despite all of that Conrad “Burger” Grunewald was able pilot his Hankook Tires Chevy Camaro to his first ever victory in Formula Drift taking out points leader Justin Pawlak and his Falken Tire Ford Mustang.  Dai Yoshihara was able to nab a third place spot but that was not enough to catch up to JTP in the points.  In fact since JTP finished second he has widened his points lead over Dai.  Yoshihara will need to step it up if he wants to go for a shot at the championship as there are only three rounds left in the season.  In the meantime Conrad is going to celebrate his much deserved first win.  Congrats Conrad!
