E3 2010: Driver: San Francisco By Ubisoft

Last night after a slew of awesome game announcements Canadian developer Ubisoft announced the third installment in the “Driver” series called “Driver: San Francisco.”  Unlike the first two games the third has hundreds of licensed cars from real manufacturers in the game just ripe for the picking and with the game’s new “shift” feature you can jump into any of those cars you want at just about any given moment.

I’m kind of a racing game purist but the thought of being able to hop into a ’71 Dodge Challenger RT and go rip-snort-riot through the streets of San Francisco like I’m in one of those cool 70’s era cop movies sounds pretty damn appealing to me.  I’m hoping that Ubisoft will have a playable demo on the E3 show floor so I can unlock a few more details.  I’ll keep you posted!  In the meantime check out some screen shots, the official E3 trailer, and press release from Ubisoft below.
