Hey hey hey! Sorry it’s been a while but I’m back in the seat now. I figure the first thing I should hit things off with is something that I meant to talk about quite some time ago. As the title of the post says you’re looking at the new 2009 Nissan 370Z. I’ll admit at first I was a bit worried about where Nissan was going to go with this. In stock form the 350Z has near perfect balance in all areas and all too often when someone tries to make something good even better, it tends to go south…
Luckily it doesn’t look like that is going to happen with the 370Z. Despite the new Z getting a horsepower bump up to 332HP, to me the biggest news about the new Z is that they’ve shortened the wheelbase. The 350 handled like a dream already so with an even shorter wheelbase under the chassis I’m curious to see how the new 370Z would carve the turns.
When it comes to the styling, well I’d like to think the new Z has “GT-R Syndrome.” Basically, there’s a huge shock when first looking at it but once you see it up close all of that shock melts away and the body lines and cues start to seriously grow on you. God knows where the inspiration for that front air dam came from but, I’m starting to be come a fan.
At the LA Auto Show I caught up with the product manager for the new Z to get a little more information like sticker price and release date. Check it out.
