7Tune hooked up with the team from Holiday Auto in Japan to spill a few juicy details on the 2010 Acura NSX. It confirmed that the next NSX will have a 5.5 liter V10 engine with something called VCM (Variable Cylinder Management). To conserve gas the VCM will shut down one cylinder bank when driving is moderate. This is similar to the systems in the new generation Hemi motors.
Currently Acura is claiming a power output of 600 horses to the crank. In the age of “beat the GT-R” I am inclined to believe that figure.
The styling is…interesting, but early renderings of the GT-R were pretty fugly too. Let’s see what happens at the next Tokyo Motor Show.
